Re: 30 Min Starnberg
Ok, thanks. Tested yesterday and did a 7,194m! :-) Haha, I think I need a new goal, those 6m won't fill 6 months, I guess. But who knwos. Sometimes one additional stroke breaks your neck. Just threw in some power tens and did the test for the first time in a really rested state. 7.300...might be pos...

Re: Is a Concept 2 "good enough" ??
It really depends on the question what for it is good enough. Personally I think that Nautilus-training-style (or machines in general) aren't as good as free weights because of many reasons (balance, smaller muscles, coordination, variable angles, etc etc.). The c2 is designed to make you a faster ro...

Re: Sub 6 minute Row journal
Forum and logbook are separate entities. Each has a distinct user name and password. First one puts the rowing in the logbook and then if the distance is one of about ten or so exact distances it can then be "ranked." The entry into the logbook can be done through log cards or manually. When one ro...

30 Min Starnberg
Ahoj! Sooooo....first of all: Anyone from Germany posting in this forum? Probably even someone who already competed in aforementioned indoor-regatta? :-) I'm talking about the 30-Minute regatta held as a part of the German indoor-championship. Of course I'm planning to take part, otherwise this thre...

Re: Sub 6 minute Row journal
Yeah, I row for a club otw and I have a pretty good coach that I constantly work on my erg technique with because I had troubles with my lower back recently. Ok! I will start to post my pieces in the logbook then. Do I have to use the same username?

Re: Sub 6 minute Row journal
I'm a 24 year old female and a member since about a year, and I managed to knock about half a minute off my 2k time (from 8 min.to 7.28). I know that going to 7.20 will take at least another year of 4 times otw, 2 -3 times (additionally) and lifting once or twice a week. You should therefore notice ...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
21km OTW on monday, 10 km with 3 x 2km/8.00 in the middle. I'll do a 2k-test in two weeks, aiming for about 7.25.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Again confusion regarding L4/Wolverine Plan:
Yesterday I did another 40'' session, first two sequences altering: I was able to maintain a 2:16/16spm and 2.12/18spm-pace, but that would suggest a 1:50 split per 500m in a 2000m-race, which is beyond my limits at the moment. How can that be possible?

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
40'' Wolverine Plan, first two 10'' sequences altering. The intensity seemed _far_ too easy, so I'll probably pick a slightly faster refpace next time...

Re: Help required
Hey guys! I thought I'd give you all a short update about my situation before engaging as a regular user in other threads. Last sunday I missed my goal by about 4 seconds, which makes a 7.34. I didn't feel well for the entire day, especially before the test, and became ill immediately after the trai...

Re: Help required
Once again thank you for the advice. Yesterday I rowed 4x500 to see at what rate and split I feel comfortable and I wanted to ask what you think of the results: My average split time was 1.50,8 which makes the 2k a 7:23 -- is 7:30 possible considering that I didn't recover/trained the day before I r...

Re: Help required
Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely consider your tips!
Wow, stroke rate 30? I did all of my 2ks at a stable 23-24, will such a high frequency make me faster?
And: yeah, 1:52 is quite intense -- but I can keep that up for about 900m now, so who knows.

Hey C2-people around the world! I'm a 23/5'9 (god, I dont even know how to write this feet, inch stuff)/70kg(I finally gave up ;)) woman from Austria who started to row in late August of this year on the water. At the beginning of winter training about one month ago I had my first ever 2K which made...
