Re: PM5 ate my workout
I’ve also had issues using just the PM5 and C2 utility. Didn’t realize ErgData captured that much detail per stroke. Might give it a try to avoid the sync errors. Appreciate the example log too.

Re: Filter doesn't seem to work
Check how the distances are entered—if they include “m” or spaces (like “2000 m”), the filter might not work properly. Filters can be picky with “equals,” so try using “greater than 1999” and “less than 2001” to catch exactly 2000m.

Re: Noob, am I overdoing it? How to mix it up
You’re not necessarily overdoing it, but since you’re just getting started, it’s smart to ease in. Aim for most workouts at a steady, moderate pace (zone 2 HR), and save the intense efforts for once or twice a week. That’ll help build fitness without burning out. Mixing in bodyweight exercises, stre...

Re: Breaking 6 min
Hitting 6:15–6:17 after front squats and no real prep is seriously solid. At your size and fitness level, with some focused erg work and a clean effort, I’d say go for it—you’re right there.

Re: Are we training too easy?
Elites train easy mainly to survive high volume, but with lower weekly hours, we can afford a bit more intensity.

Re: 2 hernias, is rowing still a safe bet for me?
With both a hiatal and incisional hernia, rowing might put pressure on your abdomen, so it’s best to be cautious. Before jumping in, check with your doctor or a physical therapist to see if it’s safe for you or if any modifications are needed.

Re: High Drag factor and high stroke rate
The stroke rate and drag factor combination that works best will depend on your body mechanics, fitness level, and the specific type of workout you're targeting. A stroke rate of 30 and a drag factor of 181 is pretty high, but it's not uncommon for people who are used to cycling or other endurance s...

Re: PM5 Bluetooth Message Has A Chance Of Being Lost
BLE from the PM5 isn’t 100% reliable, messages like 0x0037–0x003A can get dropped, especially at workout end. That’s why apps like ErgData use 0x6A to pull the full log after finishing.
The 0x6A data is raw and undocumented, but some devs have reverse-engineered parts of it—worth checking GitHub.

Re: Keeping Type 2 Diabetes in remission in 2025
Respect for not just losing the weight, but keeping it off and staying consistent, that’s the hard part. You’ve built a solid routine that works for you.
