Windex has been great for maintaining a clean slide for me but when I got my new (to me) erg I used barkeepers friend and the slide was quite shiny!

Separate question, does factory reseting reset lifetime meters rowed on the erd? or how does it store that information? I have been curious if you buy an older machine but put a new pm5 on it does it still store all of that data somehow.
