Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

I've been real busy with work the last couple of weeks. Have kept my streak alive, mostly with 30 minute sessions of UT2, which has paid off, lowering my UT2 pace (HR <= 122) from ~2:43 to ~2:28. One day I fell asleep on the couch but got up at 11:51 PM to row 100 m! But now I will have more time an...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

I will give occasional r20 a go. In fact I tried it tonight. however between keeping track of my pace and HR it was too much to concentrate on and I gave up and ended up with r23. Just did 30' at UT2 - too busy making classes, labs, and powerpoints today. At least i kept my streak alive and my UT2 ...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

FWIW, I usually row at r33/34 for 500m, as I find anything higher is a bit of tipping point for me, which is probably a weakness that I need to work on, but I've been saying that for about six years now so don't bet on it. R22-25 is fine for UT2. As you're not very tall, it's quite common for this ...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Well done going sub 2:00. It's incremental gains like this that you need to enjoy and focus on. It really doesn't matter how fast or slow that is to someone else, it's all about what you're doing. Squeezing that into a circa 20k session is also something to be proud of. Thanks man! I am just joking...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Lot of good workouts today, I'm glad to see you guys are doing well or if not well at least training hard anyway. Discovered my one pair of non-workout shorts do not fit. Wife opined "rower legs" i.e. big quads was the reason. Was pleased with this as she is very blunt and would tell me if it was bc...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

After a long day of work, including taking my kids to swimming lessons during my "lunch" break, my wife told me that she and the kids were going over to her grandma's house to celebrate her 94th birthday. "But you don't have to go if you don't want to." "Good," I replied, "because I don't want to. I...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

are you a manager I'm actually a Project Manager damn i'm good :D Regarding your training, I'm more inclined to say do whatever works for you. There could well be a faster track to progress by doing it differently, but there's no guarantees, and if you're not enjoying it then you definitely going t...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

In my experience mixing UT2 and AT/TR/AN did NOT help me a lot. I made gains but they were slow and painful. But it’s your training. Yes, Sakly said the same and based on my reading, I agree that it is not typically done. However the thought of breaking it down differently but keeping the volume, s...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

100 consecutive days is impressive even if it's all done relatively steadily, but you seem to really pushing it as the above session look fairly normal IIRC? Thanks, Stu. Yeah, that's normal. My last 4 weeks were 159.2 km, 180 km, 129.5 km, 152.7 km. I do not have a good aerobic base before taking ...
