Another PB for 10k on the skierg.
Not a great ranking but some of those ranked higher than me will be doing it crossfit-style, rather than something close to on actual skis

Re: Skierg stroke rate
Been working on strike rate for a while now, and managing usually to keep to 48s/m on 5k or 30min sessions.
Did 10k today, managed a pb by over a minute and only 1 s/m below that 48 target.

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Been working on stroke rate on skierg lately (advised by an Olympic biathlete, trying to keep over 48s/m) so haven't had a PB lately. But today, knocked over a minute off 10k pb (down to 45:59.4) and only 1s/m below target.

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
First workout of 2025, having been off the skierg over the Christmas break (and some asthma problems too), surprised to see what was expected to be a steady 30 mins skiing turn into a 200m PB - up to 6,813m :D Also above the 50th percentile mark, above the average distance for my age, and in the to...

Re: Question on 5,000m Time and Form Check
Hey there! Did my first ever 5,000m on the SkiErg, was kinda fun, kinda sucked, but super glad I attempted it! How is 28:20.2 for 5000 meters? Also, how's my form looking? (Sorry for the janky angle and footage!) https://youtu.be/nAnDrAaoKBA I suspect many of us start off at much too low a stroke r...

Re: Skierg stroke rate
My natural cadence is high 30s, I have to work hard to get it higher. I do wonder whether it's simply a question of coordination, muscle-fibre make up, that sort of thing?

Re: StrengthERG suggestions to make it #1 strength machine
Guys, the thing has been designed and is in production. A number of the proposed changes would take things back to square one and require a complete redesign. Yes, they might tweak some details as the production continues, but they aren't going to scrap the design and start over. Let's give C2 cred...

Re: StrengthERG suggestions to make it #1 strength machine
The inability to train hamstrings is a big issue for me.
If Concept 2 solve that, I'm in the market for a StrengthERG.
If they don't, I'm probably not.

Re: Question on 1,000m Time
Welcome to the 'World of Erg'. Got a SkiErg? you wont regret it. Got mine during first lockdown. 5.5 million metres so far and loving it. How to finesse that 1k? if you have the time and inclination check out my journey from the 1k and beyond. Hope it helps. Employing equal doses of trial and error...

Another skierg 5K PB today
21:42.4. Averaged 42s/m.
Now ranked 32nd for my age group - but got under the average time in the rankings for the first time.
Gotta take the little wins when you can

Another 5K skierg PB: 21:57.6.
Only 0.1 second improvement this time, but progress is progress, and tbh felt knackered at the start of the session.

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
There's no way I'd be rating 38 on the rower!
Am dyspraxic, so getting movements fast and coordinated is, shall we say, a challenge.
But upping the rating has worked to mitigate (if not entirely eliminate) excessive lean, so it was a good tip.
