You are taking these challenges waaaaaay to seriously.

Count me among those who take honesty "waaaaaaay to seriously." (Even way too seriously).

I won't feel embarrassed about that.

Re: 30R20

A 30r20 is the easiest, as you have to pull every 3s and can synch with the remaining time on the PM5. Of course, this needs some brain activities during the workout, it's probably not for everyone. Stroke counter from Ergdata or Ergzone is the solution for everyone :) Agree! At 20 spm I aim to sta...

Re: Forum Flyers

 Yeah, the value of doing all the pieces early in the season. First time I've ever done that. I'm sure it won't last long though. The best I've ever done was 7th at year end, and that was over two decades ago. In recent years I've been finishing anywhere from 12th to 70th. It looks nice for now...

Re: Forum Flyers

Haha, a good excuse to slow down a little. "Bums on seats," as Meerkats would say. It's too bad that the CTC doesn't fill the boats in a way that gets us all afloat, but I see the logic for putting the fastest people in the first boat. Unfortunately, it can leave too many of us on the dock...

Re: Forum Flyers

Haha, the Diamonds tried to recruit me too and I had the same reaction. I mean, sure, they're doing great, but how many boats do they need every month? It would be good to have Ed on board. Thanks for trying to recruit him. Just had a nice chat with Rod and hope there are no hard feelings between o...

Re: Tennis elbow and resuming activity

I've had that issue on and off for years. For me it's because I bend my elbow too soon on the drive. If I concentrate on keeping the elbow straight during the leg drive, essentially focusing on locking it out during the recovery and keeping it there, the problem goes away. When I get lazy and stop t...

Re: Forum Flyers

For those wondering about pace for the March CTC, this morning I did mine at 2 seconds slower than my best recent 2K race. Seemed about right, leaving me gasping for breath.

FYI, from the World Rowing web site:

“The plan is for the 2026 World Rowing Indoor Championships to return to being an in-venue event. The selection process for the host nation is currently taking place.”

Hope so!

Good news. I hope so too.

Re: CRASH-Bs 2025 ---Back with a Vengeance

Rick, You're an inspiration. And your report makes me think I ought to make another trip to Boston. One last time yo-yoing to nowhere. That makes as much sense as anything, these days. I remember that great day at the Reggie Lewis Center when you and I both broke 7:00 at CRASH-Bs. Ah, those were th...

CRASH-Bs 2025 ---Back with a Vengeance

"Hope you, have got your things together. Hope you, are quite prepared to die. Looks like, we're in for nasty weather....." --John Fogerty, Bad Moon Rising. The vengeance was all Mother Nature's actually, as she not only rained on CRASH-Bs return parade but snowed on it, sleeted on it, and blew up a...

Re: CRASH-Bs 2025

Did this event occur? I was hoping to watch the live stream, but that wasn't working. Any report or summary from anyone? Thanks. It did indeed occur, despite Mother Nature's attempt to shut it down. Unfortunately several people were unable to make it due to dangerous travel conditions. Reports, or ...

Re: Forum Flyers

This morning I noticed that we were one lightweight short of floating boat 2, so I got down to it. Squeaked ahead of Chris by a mere 0.2 sec. That should fire him up to try another.

Re: Indoor USA National Championships

The big issue was probably making weight. These days without even trying I maintain a body weight only a couple pounds over the 165lb limit, so it really shouldn’t be an issue. But when travelling and having no access to a scale, not necessarily able to find the optimal meals, and not performing as...
