Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Team Oarsome Challenge This was the nicest TOC this season so far 👌🏻 Really liked this session! Actually I planned the ergenduranceseries today, but I had a slight rough throat from yesterday's (probably too intense) gym session, so wasn't feeling longer intervals with higher rate and decided 20 ti...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!

Absolutely astonishing. Completely agree with Stu, this is the best PB you’ve posted. The marathon distance is incredibly hard and to do it at that pace takes immense mental strength no matter the ability of the athlete. Very well Done mate!

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!

Perhaps the final PB of this C2 season, as I'm honestly not sure I'm willing to subject myself to the torture of a max-effort full marathon... 500m: Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M 1:19.9 500 1:19.9 686 2661 45 0:16.2 100 1:21.0 659 2566 45 0:15.9 200 1:19.5 697 2697 45 0:15.9 300 1:19.5 697 2697...

Re: Drive length, leg length, height, & performance

Did a 10k r20 this evening just under 40min and 800 strokes. I looked at a few things that I'd never bothered with before. Ergdata doesn't seem to record these unless I'm missing something? Drive time avg 0.66 Avg force 540 Drive length mainly 1.33 Meaningless to me, the most important thing is bei...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!

The final few minutes or 400-500 metres are usually the easiest parts of a piece mentally. It’s the ’thank god it nearly over’ part!!! I think most people find the last push and empty the tank. I remember when I was doing some disgusting military training an instructor told me a human mind will only...

Re: What to eat and drink during a marathon

For my most recent FM I had a few days off prior to it, ensured I ate plenty. Rice, pasta, fruit, veg and didn’t hold back on desserts. Treat yourself mate! On the day, for breakfast, I ate porridge and fruit and eggs on toast about 3 hours before the race. Made sure I kept well hydrated the few day...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!

Hi all. A very satisfying PB to post. FM at 2:49.19. https://log.concept2.com/share/2183919/98873956 The final 10k of this was up there with the most physically and mentally hardest things I’ve ever done. There is a no way I’d have completed this without being in the environment and support of the p...

Astonishing stuff. Done a few of this the last month and I have to bust a gut to make 8000m. Looking very solid and bodes well for that 2k attempt.

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!

An unexpected 2K PB today. 6:36.5 https://log.concept2.com/share/2183919/98100316 Can only attribute this to technique improvements as I’m not nearly as fit as two months ago. Certainly not complaining. :) Congrats - I set my previous 2k pm near the end of my marathon prep - so while not 2k sharp -...
