Re: New Concept2 Machine Teaser – Reveal Tomorrow?

Maybe a bit more setup required, or some server needs to recycle for me to see it. You do not have the required permissions to view or read topics within this forum. Same was for me, but now working. Probably would make sense to shift the existing strength erg threads to this section. Yes, we strug...

Re: Buying a used Model D

If the rower is otherwise in good condition (especially if it has a working monitor), $200 is a good price for a model D. Clutch bearing replacement is a satisfying DIY job if you have access to a bearing press or can cobble up something equivalent with threaded rod or bolts, washers, nuts, etc. as ...

Re: Replacement foot strap question

For anyone reading this thread in the future, the straps on the Model C _are_ attached by screws. The longer toe piece securing screws - part #1228. I know this because I washed the straps on my well used, second hand Model C a few days ago and they’re as good as new except for slight fading where t...

Re: Flywheel roller bearing size/spec (not clutch bearing)

Thank you on both counts c2jonw! I’ll order some R8-2RS ball bearings ASAP. BTW I read in a post that the serial numbers used to be handwritten so here’s a picture of mine (032095): https://i.ibb.co/x15PxgW/IMG-9595.jpg I was expecting to overpaint this during the refurb but I think I’ll mask it off...

Flywheel roller bearing size/spec (not clutch bearing)

Hi everyone, I’m restoring an ex-surf club Model C with a failing clutch and no PM that is currently usable. Bought for AUD60 so happy to spend a bit more for quality components. Can someone please tell me the specs of the two (?) bearings that accompany the one-way clutch bearing inside the flywhee...

Re: paint color model c

@FreshCrabsJustCaught Here’s a photo of my Model C which is undergoing gradual restoration/upgrade. The flywheel back cover has been painted with Satin Coastal Gray, purchased from Hammerbarn, while frame is still the original paint (to be repainted eventually). To my eye, the colors are a very clos...

Re: Chain recoil issue/no "bite" at catch

@Carl Watts: I also thank you for the KOYO RC-121610-FS clutch bearing ID! I’ve ordered one from the US via eBay. I have a 10T press for automotive DIY work so should be an easy replacement. Does anyone know the specs of the two bearings that sandwich the clutch bearing and if there are better quali...
