Re: Pondering the Beginner Pete Plan
I dont seem to physically be able to go very fast. Is that a fitness thing? I'm pretty cardio fit but just not specifically rowing fit.

Re: Pondering the Beginner Pete Plan
I nearly gave up... going into week 7 I'm finding it quite tedious if I'm honest. Today was 8000m and addressing stroke rate for a change. Says to concentrate on getting it below 24... I struggle to get my stroke rate higher than about 21. Am I doing something wrong?

Re: Pondering the Beginner Pete Plan
Out of interest... what do people do after completing this plan? Is there another available that is a natural follow on?

Re: Pondering the Beginner Pete Plan
Week 2 day 3.... 5500m... I did at almost the same pace as the previous 5500m (a little faster as I misread my pace π) but my stroke rate was faster and it felt easier to maintain the speed. Before I was at an average of 18 as I really tried to dial in my technique... today it was 21. Is there a nat...

Re: Pondering the Beginner Pete Plan
I've just finished my first week of the BPP. Initial thoughts are that it seems pretty OK ππ» note to self though... don't try the 5000m day 3 after cycling 92kms π€£ I'm sure that fresh I could have matched day 1s 5000m time, but no way today. My average on the first 5000m was 2:17/500m which I was ho...

Re: Pondering the Beginner Pete Plan
I'm planning on starting this plan next week. Can you just help with the 2 min rest on Day 2 week one. Is it 2 mins total rest after each interval? Is the 2 min rest just a very slow 2min row? Is it 2mins between each interval?
Thanks for the clarification. I'm looking forward to giving it a go.

Re: Back to the fold....
I spent much time with Google and all the studies suggest that rowing is good for joint and bone health ![ππ»](//twemoji.maxcdn.com/2/svg/1f44d-1f3fb.svg)

Re: Back to the fold....
One of the factors to row was that cycling is so bad for joint and bone health when compared to rowing. As a female in my 50's I really need to give my bones the best possible strength before I 'get old' π I know there are better exercises out there than rowing but it's better than nothing (which I'...

Back to the fold....
20 odd years ago I was the UK HM Prison Service rowing champion. I loved indoor rowing and had my own C2 rower, racking up distance rows on a regular basis. Fast forward 20 odd years and now I'm a cyclist but found a C2D rower for a silly price here in Spain so had to buy it. :D It's quite fun being...
