Re: Slides have arrived!
Slides Update: Well the new rowerg and slides arrived first thing this morning, 3 days after ordering! After making room in my garage gym I started unpacking and assembling the rowerg. Took around 10/15 minutes, so easy to do (even for me!). The Rowerg feels so much smaller than the Model E I curre...

Re: Zone 2-3 Heart rate? I can't even stay outta Zone 5
I've tried to strictly keep to UT2 but I'm not convinced that it's beneficial for a continuous period of time, but that is just my experience, so it's clearly not definitive. . I much prefer to mix up some grey zone paces with UT2 sessions when they feel necessary, as I strongly suspect that it's d...

Re: Zone 2-3 Heart rate? I can't even stay outta Zone 5
I'm not a fan of Zone 2 as at the required pace on long rows my stroke gets sloppy. That is why I use the HR Zone 2 SS to perfect technique. So I have a lot of focus on technical elements that prevents me from getting sloppy. And I agree that preventing a weak stroke to develop is important. The ke...

Re: Is there an app for your phone that links to the monitor?
I'm confused 😕 I downloaded the c2 app so it will connect with the mp5 and record my data directly on to the logbook. How can it track my heartbeat ? Do I need a watch with a chest belt or just a chest belt? Sorry for being thick ! No problem  You can either use a watch or a belt, but most wat...

Re: Coming back to rowing after a hiatus, but with much better fitness
I got to the gym today to test myself on the Concept 2. A bit disappointed that they were PM3 displays, so I wasn't able to connect my HR strap and was flying blind, so to speak. Additionally, there was no cooling in the gym at all. I did my 2000m warmup and got 500m into my first attempt before ge...

Re: PM5 average stroke rate - what's occurring?
I'm thinking that's probably the best approachDangerscouse wrote: ↑August 20th, 2024, 9:42 amI've seen really strange roundings, even when the total stroke rate will confirm a specific spm, so it can't be a rounding error.
I've given up trying to understand it as it's not that important, and it will only give me stress

PM5 average stroke rate - what's occurring?
Did 10k on the RowErg this morning with an average SR of 19. However, only one of the 2k splits was at 19, the other four were 20/21. How could the average be 19? (Not the first time I've noticed this phenomenon.)

Re: Thoughts on tall vs. standard legs--
Unless you absolutely need long legs, I'd go for the standard machine for the reasons already given. When I bought mine back in 2022, I wanted to capitalise on the C2 being great value for money. By definition, that meant buying the standard machine.

Re: PM5 obsolete?
I resisted for some time but can't hold back the following curmudgeon comment. I like the Concept 2 just fine the way it is. I don't want to buy a television with my rower, and I certainly don't want to pay for a subscription. I don't want a touchscreen anything. I will keep my 2016 car with tactil...

Re: Coming back to rowing after a hiatus, but with much better fitness
FTP 410 watts. Kudos. Thank you! :D I've only recently gotten an accurate measure of that, with a week in Norway and some very long climbs. I put out more power on hills than on the flat, but I'm working on the latter. I've only started doing threshold work in the last few months really, since star...

Re: Display for avg/500m
I guess I'm expecting a similar feeling to what I'd experience when pedaling, seated, up a steepish hill. The upper body is braced and still, and all the power is being directed through the quads. The feeling of that full engagement, that burning. Of course, the difference is that with cycling the ...

Re: Display for avg/500m
Thanks, I'll try all those suggestions :) Just for the avoidance of doubt, feeling your legs in the stroke isn't essential and won't be something that you'll really notice normally (I don't) but it's a great way of knowing what it should feel like and ingraining the movement into your automated sys...

Re: Display for avg/500m
I must say that, clearly contrary to others' experiences, I've never been able to create an isolated mind-leg connection whilst erging. For me, the drive is a process of transition where the hip pivot simply takes over from the leg drive. I know the legs are working, but, in my mind, I can't isolat...
