Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Also got the CTC in today. Aimed at 2:15.0 pace but started too conservatively and ended up with a 2.13:4. Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Went for 4 x 2k with 3' rest. But I wasn't sure how to pace it. The avg pace was 2k+9. I think this workout is part of the Pete Plan, right? My problem with the Pete Plan is that I never how to pace the session. That's why I'm doing RowAlong. But at the moment I'm not follwing any plan. So thought I...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
I was pretty quited around here in the last few weeks as life is pretty busy at the moment. I did not follow a specific plan in august but mixed steady state, mid efforts and a few high effort sessions. And rowed enough meters to finish the Dog Days of Summer Challenge with 115k. I'm pleased with th...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Sometimes the best workouts come at the most unexpected times... Half Marathon PB today! I believed I'd have the fitness to beat my 1:16:15 from May, but had no idea by how much... Set out with a game plan of sitting on 1:47 for the first few kilometers, and adjusting up to 1:48s if needed. A third...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
New 6k PB. It's not a very common distance for me. But I had to get the CTC in. Last ranked piece was a year ago. Reduced the PB by one minute. Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M 27:23.1 6,000m 2:16.9 136 769 24 177 4:35.9 1,000m 2:17.9 133 758 24 168 4:35.3 2,000m 2:17.6 134 761 24 174 4:35.1 3,000m...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
I was back into training last week with 3 sessions with 30, 40 and 45 min and a 6,5k run. But then on sunday I was at the open-air pool for 4 hours as my youngest son is learning to swim. And I got a severe ongoing spasm at my lower back being hardly able to work after my vacation . I hope it w...

Re: ‘Rowalong’ sessions on youtube
I also love Johns videos. I recently did the 10k plan and it worked great for me.
I like the way he talks about personal stuff and it keeps me smiling when he talks about having spaghetti bolognese because I know it's a friday in his video.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Last tough session before heading off to a three week vacation. I did the same session as W3S1 of the 10k plan 2,5 month ago, but now with adjusted 2k pace. Overall pace was two seconds faster, avg HR 2 bpm lower. I really like this type of session. Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M 40:00.0 8,695m 2...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
After thursdays 10k pb I had the feeling I had to retest my 2k. Well, yes! Current pb was 8:43.3 with a 2:10.8 pace. Shaved of nearly 10sec: Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M 8:33.9 2,000m 2:08.4 165 868 26 183 2:10.2 500m 2:10.2 159 845 27 178 2:10.7 1,000m 2:10.7 157 839 26 181 2:07.9 1,500m 2:07....

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Thanks to all of you. You don't know how motivating your comments are for me. Sub 45 is miles away but I will keep rowing. I just don't know how to proceed now. I feel that it helps enormously to follow a specific training plan as it helps to keep up consistency. My goal is 30k per week, maybe more....

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
New 10k pb :D I had the afternoon off and kids are away overnight. I decided to attempt the 10k time trial I planned for sunday after following the 10k plan by RowAlong for 5 month. Well, I was quite nervous as I never tried a real 10k time trial. Although I felt quite rested my HR was way to high s...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Don't know your 2k, assume it is around 2:11 splits, when this piece was 2k +8,5. My 10k is ca. 2k+9. 10k is a bit older than my 2k, but the 2k probably a bit slower, as it was not done at a good day. Your target of today's session seems to be spot on in this regard and does not seem to overestimat...
