Re: Recovery tips?
Thanks, iain. The reasons you mentioned are likely valid for me, including hunger, higher body temperature, and soreness. I probably need to eat more on hard days. Increased body temperature might be a major cause of reduced sleep quality, as the body temperature needs to cool for deep sleep. I thin...

Recovery tips?
I noticed that my sleep is much worse on a hard workout day, such as 8x500m, or hard effort 5000m, even if I do it early in the morning. In the night following the hard workout, I sleep more shallowly and tend to wake up more often and feel tired the next morning. For this reason, I now typically on...

Re: Finally took the leap
That sounds great 😄👌🏻 Enjoy this piece of equipment! Thanks, Salky. I had a few short sessions on the SkiERG. It was much harder for me. At the same heart rate, I output about 30% less power than on the RowERG. What’s more, my max power on the SkiErg was only 50% of that on the RowErg. I am glad I ...

Finally took the leap
I converted my wife into a rower and now she has 1,000,000m on it and enjoys it. She no longer says no to adding a SkiErg. I finally have it in my collection. Just spent whole Friday evening mounting it on the wall, which happens to have 12 inch instead of 16 inch studs, and I had to get a piece of ...

Re: Adjusting my training
Probably your adjustment is pointing to the wrong direction. If you face kind of overtraining, you can surely say that recovery is not enough. If you did all 5 PP sessions and added 3 Trx trainings, it is a lot of volume. To deal with it, you need to focus on - really plan - your recovery. Sleep ha...

Adjusting my training
I put my first rowing session on my Erg log on 8/21/2022. I soon found the Pete plan and followed it faithfully until the end of 2023. I also added 3 sessions of TRX weight training per week in mid-2023. My rowing performance continued to improve until September 2023. My 2k, 5k, and 30min all reache...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Thank you all! I am approaching my one-year anniversary on the Erg. Looking back, I have improved a lot thanks to tips from you
. My UT2 power increased by about 60 watts, and I also went below 7:20 for 2k. Still, lots of exercise is needed for a sub 7 2k, but I am more hopeful than when I started.

I tried to do a 2:00 rate 20, but couldn’t control the rating enough. Nevertheless, finished 30min as a PB. Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Thank, Stu. It was a very unsettling feeling towards the end. I thought I should be sprinting but instead finding it hard to keep going. My pace dropped to almost 1:54 during the last 150m. It is horrible when your legs won't respond. I have had that in two virtual competitions and watching your pl...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
New 2K test. A 8.6 seconds improvement from my last 2k (7.27.1) done in April. I still had a pacing issue. I planned for 1:49.0 but went too fast in the first 500m. I also set the DF too high at 123. I think the optimal DF for me is about 118 to 120. I planned to sprint for the last 250m but instea...
