Re: Rowerg vs skierg?

Do you have a chance to try them? Maybe even side-by-side?

If you have a crossfit gym nearby, there's a good chance they would have both machines. You could call them and find out if you could do drop-in during their "open gym" time.

Let us know what you end up deciding!

SkiErg kicked my butt

Hey friends, TL;DR: skierg is hard, if you haven't tried it - don't miss an opportunity to do so A quick recap of my journey: 2022: I got a rower in August for convenience and because I remembered how it sucked during crossfit workouts. Shortly after started the beginner pete plan. 2023: finished fi...

Re: Pondering the Beginner Pete Plan

BPP 24.5 on SkiErg [4 x 1000m / 3min rest] – Week 21 was the last time you completed this session. Your final session of the 24 week plan. Pretty stoked to be finished. https://i.imgur.com/utBvWUn.png I'll do a 2k soon. Plan is to sit at or right under 2:00 pace @ 48spm. Wohoo, congrats Ray! I've f...

Re: Coreperform/unstable seat for Model D

Hi all, please could you let me know whether there might be anywhere to buy an unstable seat for a Model D (eg the Coreperform)? I’d like something that simulates the unstable motion of the boat while erging. From this link, it seems they’re not currently being made (http://www.ps-sport.net/ARSESAL...

Re: "Balance base for rowing machine"

Hi friends, rather than posting a new thread I’ll resurrect this one with feedback. First, context to gauge how reliable is my feedback: I’ve only been rowing since last August, and only have just around 1.4 million meters experience. Of these, about 400k on a model D, and around a million in c2 dyn...

Re: Pondering the Beginner Pete Plan

... Looking good! How long in between each session, on average? 6 month? It's awesome looking at your gains. Today was BPP 20.3. I didn't follow the script b/c I wanted to complete the Tour De SkiErg Challenge weekly piece. Thanks! The time difference is about 4-5 months - I've mostly done the next...

Re: Pondering the Beginner Pete Plan

Solid work everyone! Almost done with BPP, Ray!

As to me - chugging along, here are the comparisons of two more weeks between first / second runs. Trying to get my brother to start rowing, so far with no success haha.

Re: Pondering the Beginner Pete Plan

... Getting older and not always getting the ideal amounts of sleep, these pieces let me get some work in, but don't leave me tired for the entire day. +1 on "getting older" part, as I approached and entered my 30s I was still feeling fairly invincible, approaching 40s now definitely realize my bod...

https://i.imgur.com/InZHzPv.png Wohoo, congrats!!! That's a pretty cool milestone! (extra relevant for me because I'm likely going to get my first million on the rower soon) As to me, 2xBPP coming along: week 3 complete; steady states on average about 5% slower (wasn't heart rate limited yet on fir...

Re: Pondering the Beginner Pete Plan

Ugh. That stinks about missing the interval... but, you knew exactly how long it was and you're only competing with yourself. Nice documentation. That's what I'm using this thread for as well. I've looked back to 2017 or 2018 when I did the BPP the first time and wish I had posted more. Is the 146 ...

Re: Pondering the Beginner Pete Plan

BPP 18.4 ... Posting for accountability. 34spm on ski is ~20spm on rower. My actual pace and spm for the splits are spot on target. That doesn't happen too often for me on the ski. Keep posting, Ray! Solid progress day after day. Also noticed your signature update, happy birthday fellow Aquarius! A...

Re: Pondering the Beginner Pete Plan

@RayOfSunshine solid progress, impressive! Keep up the good work! As to me, HM went okay. Half way realized 1h30m isn’t happening at 140bpm hr, picked it up to 150. 2/3 way realized that won’t do either, just aim for steady stroke rate and over 2:08 pace (that’s 1h30m pace) and let the heart rate cl...

Re: Looking for Training Partners

Hi! Responding a little late to this prompt, but if you're interested in following along the beginner pete plan, there's a thread with a few folks going through it right now, and posting results & encouragement for each other. Maybe that would be something up your alley? https://www.c2forum.com/view...

Re: Pondering the Beginner Pete Plan

... I'll be taking it easy this time. BPP 16.4 - 10k restricted to 22spm (or about 37spm on the ski) Also capped HR @ 60% HRR 2:30 pace @ 35spm Looking forward to BPP 16.5, 4x1k 3r, tomorrow Aw man, do take it easy! You got this, no need to rush! --- As to me - thanks for all the encouragement alon...
