Re: Pondering the Beginner Pete Plan
Week 20 done. Target for 8x500 was 1:55.3, final pace 1:53.8, final split 1:51.4. Unfortunately something got messed up in the upload to the logbook so I had to grab it over usb from the utility, which doesn't have the nice pace/hr graphs and I've lost the rates except for an interval average. Anywa...

Re: Pondering the Beginner Pete Plan
Forgot to post last week. Part way through week 20 now. Still going strong, and have kind of dialed in the rates for the different lengths of interval. Today was 5x1500r3:00, target pace 2:07, splits of 206.8/.6/.3/.8 and 2:01.7! Felt very strong and controlled today and really looking forward to th...

Re: Pondering the Beginner Pete Plan
Week 17 done. Aside from not seeing the improvement I was expecting on the 500m intervals things went well. Random weekly musings as usual: - Experimented with upping the damper a bit more, up to ~127ish. I think it's made me stroke rate go down as I feel I'm able to put more power in to each pull. ...

Re: Pondering the Beginner Pete Plan
I think my pace may have culminated on these shorter distances at 1:59. Week 11 has 8 x 500m so I'll find out soon enough! Just done the 8 x 500m and yes, I was overcooking the shorter intervals. I last did an all-out 2k a few years ago and came in at 8:08 so that's 2:02/500m. Holding 1:59 for six ...

Re: Pondering the Beginner Pete Plan
Checking in after week 16. Super busy week and couldn't get all five workouts in. Felt strong though, following the plan. I've switched my phone to the pacer view and it's helped me a lot in following the suggested pacing of matching the average then going hard on the last interval. I'm really looki...

Re: Pondering the Beginner Pete Plan
Great work and follow through Mitchel!
What do you think you're gonna do next? The jump from week 24 to the full 6 days a week plan feels pretty large to me. I've seen people pooh poohing the plan as an all-the-time prospect elsewhere also. I have a couple months to decide yet though.

Re: Pondering the Beginner Pete Plan
Week 15 done. Blasted my goal for the 10k (see the pb thread for details) and the rest of the workouts felt pretty good. Current rates are: ~2:21 for SS pace ~2:08 for the 1500 or 2k intervals ~2:15 for the 10-20m intervals We'll see where the sprints end up. Paying attention to dry off my hands dur...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
A piddly PB compared to some of the flyers around here but I'm pretty proud of this one: I'm in the middle weeks of the beginners Pete plan where you repeat the 10k row several times. I originally was doing them at SS pace but set a goal to meet or beat the 25th percentile of ranked workouts in the ...

Re: Pondering the Beginner Pete Plan
Week 14 complete. Went ahead with my plan of 2:16.5 target for the 10k. Felt pretty winded at the end but not sore or exhausted so I was positive. What I didn't realize was how it would affect me the next day, as I failed to re-do the pace of 2:04.9 for the 3x2k that I had achieved the week before. ...

Re: Pondering the Beginner Pete Plan
My concept pm5 has a usb port and can update via that. Although I have a macbook, I suggest you get a USB to USB C Adapter next time since you can just use a regular B cable with the adapter and overall it has more uses like having a wireless usb mouse etc. Also if you are getting blisters again, y...

Re: Apple Watch Heart Rate to RowErg
No, the healthKit app doesn't allow export like that. You can get close though by having heartrate be one of the views in ergdata and with a phone mount it can be visible right there on top of the monitor.

Re: ergData / iOS 16 missing data
Updating to the beta firmware using the utility & cable (rather than the thumbdrive) and just did a quick 100m programmed through ergdata and it ended and uploaded fine. Was also able to pull the missing workouts from the pm5 and upload those. No nice graphs with heartrate but it at least has split-...

Re: Multiple issues with Ergdata not syncing anymore w PM5
Did you update to ios16 this week? It's a known issue apparently (check around on reddit), that will require an update to the PM firmware. I've taken the plunge and ordered a usb C to B cable...

Re: Pondering the Beginner Pete Plan
Another week down. I'm hitting the ios16 bug so I'm not getting those browsable workout details. Surprising how much that saps my enjoyment actually. I learned the c2 utility has a mac version so I've ordered a usb C to B cable and should be able to update the firmware on the PM and also pull the re...

Re: ergData / iOS 16 missing data
I hit something like this for the first time today. On ending the workout from ergdata on ios the working spinner spun for about a minute then went away. I was stuck on the 'in workout' graphs view with everything showing zero. After killing the app and reopening nothing made it to the log. :| Hope ...
