Re: ErgData and Re-Row
The re-row of which I'm aware is accessed by the PM5 interface. But that might not be much use to you on a shared machine. My knowledge is a little sketch on how to program a workout, and then save it without actually doing the workout. I try to do this once a month for the CTC, and more often than ...

Re: HRM interference
I recommend Coospo H808S chest HRM. Doesn't cost much, has ANT+ and (single) Bluetooth.

Re: HRM interference
I have never been able to get an accurate HR reading from a wrist device while rowing. I find wrist devices fine for cycling or walking, marginal for running, and hopeless for rowing.

Re: Noob observations (C2 vs Skillrow)
Regarding wrist HRMs: I've found them OK for cycling and walking, marginal for running (periods of bogus readings), and hopeless for rowing (consistent bogus readings). Tightening the strap helps a bit with running, but not rowing.

Re: calorie counter
Calories, as I've noted, give you a bonus of 150 Cal/Hr just for time spent on the machine. So neither pace nor Calories is proportional to the work you do. Agree conceptually, but not sure where you get the 150. C2 adds 300. My faulty memory. Thanks for correcting me. But if you're trying to measu...

Re: calorie counter
One is a equally good measure of external output as watts that can also be used with a huge number of assumptions to give food intake vs external output with so much error range (even weight adjusted) that it's useless for anything except rough magnitudes and motivation. (Calories) [/i] People shou...

Re: calorie counter
Sure, you can calculate an amount of calories (= heat unit), which is equivalent to the power you put into the machine. But for what reason you want to do that? This is not helpful for anything. As soon as the word "calories" comes up, one thinks of calories burned by the body, but this is not happ...

Re: calorie counter
This calorie stuff is the most useless metric on any erg. perhaps, but if watts and splits are OK then Calories are OK. There's a simple transform on watts to get Calories. And that's the fallacy. Watts and splits show you exactly what power is put into the machine. A physical measurement. Calories...

Re: calorie counter
Ignoring the fact that something is clearly wrong - unless you are the "perfect" human that C2 modelled the calorie calc on, it's going to be off anyway, as it is a generic calc based on some quite big assumptions. (essentially only any use for rough ballpark figures imo - 1hr at x pace is more wor...

Re: Noob observations (C2 vs Skillrow)
I've used TechnoGym in hotel gyms. All in all, I don't like the feel as much as C2, especially when you turn up the supplemental mag resistance. But it seems adequate to me, and the "pace" numbers seemed within the ballpark of what I'd expect on a C2 for the same RPE. I didn't try the HR, as I seldo...

Re: Diagnosing high current draw/battery drain on PM2 Rev 2.3
Have you considered wiring in an AC power adapter? If you're like me you have a drawer full of these and probably one is 3V or thereabouts. Alternatively, maybe a toggle switch to cut the battery power when not in use. For diagnosis, 100ma @ 3v might generate enough heat that you could isolate the p...

Re: How does Rowerg work in conjunction to ergdata, logbook and PM5
There's new settings that do indeed keep the session alive now with ergdata. so you do need to "stop" your session one way or another to disconnect - or turn off BTE on the device. I always go: put on HRM, BTE on phone, wake up PM5, open ergdata, (both HRM and ergdata are saved & auto connect) choo...

Re: Newbie here - how does Rowerg work in conjunction to ergdata, logbook and PM5
Though on other occasions I have observed that if you start a new app, ErgData continues to track the PM5. I believe there was a screen off involved on that occasion. I thought: "Damn. I lost my ErgData session." But it saved the workout as usual. Followup: I just turned on the PM5 and let it conne...

Re: Newbie here - how does Rowerg work in conjunction to ergdata, logbook and PM5
Did the ErgData device screen went to off? Next time I will focus on this to try to find out, when this message is thrown. No. When you first use ErgData it asks you to disable power saving for it. Presumably, that disables screen off/sleep. Though on other occasions I have observed that if you sta...

Re: Newbie here - how does Rowerg work in conjunction to ergdata, logbook and PM5
That is not the case. Current ergdata version will disconnect automatically from PM5 after 15min, if no workout is running. After that, PM5 will timeout after few mins and shutdown, too. Hmmm. I'll have to investigate further. It certainly used to stay on indefinitely if you were in a Just Row or a...
