Re: Rower making a clicking noise, resistance doesn't change
Clicking could be the oneway clutch has been taken out and put back in the wrong way round; so who dunnit? In any case no resistance means its not working. If this were the case, the chain would not retract. Also, the clutch bearing makes very little noise when freewheeling. I can't hear it at all ...

Re: Rower making a clicking noise, resistance doesn't change
Many thanks will this cause that horrendous clicking noise too? Quite likely. There's a ratchet mechanism in the clutch bearing that is "trying" to catch. Cleaning & lubricating may help. Or not. I suppose it is possible that the chain is off the sprocket, but I would expect that to jam rather than...

Re: Pm 3 monitor problems
Sounds like the micro switch behind the plastic button is bad. You might be able to make it work by pushing the MENU button hard a hundred or so times. Maybe some sort of spray electronic cleaner would help. Otherwise, the switch probably needs to be replaced. And for PM3, probably not worth it. Th...

Re: visual migraine
Interesting. To be clear, when I have aura, I see it with both eyes shut, one eye shut and one eye open, or both eyes open. And the blind spot (wavy or blank, but not black, exactly where you focus to read a letter of text) is the same in both eyes.

Re: visual migraine
Both of your one-eye reports caused me to revisit the literature. Indeed "migraine with aura" is both eyes, but "retinal migraine" is one eye. Aura may or may not be associated with headache; retinal generally precedes headache. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/migraine-headache/expert...

Re: visual migraine
I have atypical migraine with aura. No headache, blurry blotch at centre of focus and circular laser show in both eyes. Not clear what brings them on. Sometimes I have several in a week; sometimes none for months on end. I think it has been at least six months since I last had one. When it first hap...

Re: UK Erg Servicing
If you buy a new flywheel, any handyman can replace it. In US, it costs about $100. Not sure about UK. You can also replace the clutch bearing, but that requires more creativity. If you are paying somebody to do it, probably cheaper to replace the flywheel. You can also clean the clutch bearing with...

Re: Model D new sensor not fitting
https://imgur.com/a/1MQCtE8 I haven’t contacted the company yet? Would they respond even if the rower is so old? Thanks Gareth Yes. They always answer. Email info@concept2.com. Just the other day they explained to me how to update the firmware in a 20-yea-old PM3. But now that I'm posting ... batte...

Re: PM3 hangs during firmware update
Interesting mix of PM3 PM5 suggests its a generic solution across generations. What I'd call the nuclear option as you'll lose everything on the PM including lifetime meters etc - but worth a go if its otherwise fubarred. PM3 uses a smart card, so you don't lose anything. Not sure what happens to y...

Re: PM3 hangs during firmware update
OK, I couldn't leave it alone. Eventually I made it work. Seems to be flakey so I'm not sure what precisely did the trick. Thank you for your help on this. After several attempts I finally made it work. Here's the report I sent back to C2. ---- I tried various combinations. Windows 11 laptop with US...

Re: PM3 hangs during firmware update
I have the same problem and asked Concept 2. Their response is below. I have not tried it yet, because I don't have any compelling reason for the update, and I don't feel like doing a battery pull and resetting the date and time, which is what I've had to do after previous attempts ... ---- From: (C...
Re: Vo2 max
How did you measure it? Smart watch estimates aren't worth much.
That said, your reported VO2 max is excellent for your age, accordig to this table:

Re: watts and damper setting
You realize you have the same mass up a slide on the drive as well? Because my body does not magically appear on the end of the slide, it has to be pushed there (and accelerate quite a lot to reach a decent pace). It actually starts to add up quite badly if you do the math.... In recovery, you acce...
