Re: Model D chain is noisy, especially during recovery

I've also got an early Model D, 2005 era. A couple of years back I replaced the original black chain with one of the newer shiny ones after using a different machine elsewhere. I wouldn't particularly say it quietened it down much, but the newer chains seem to be smoother to me and require less freq...

Re: Handle Stowage?

Yep same here - I don't think it really matters but all the way retracted for me to stop it getting knocked.

Re: Try the Real Time Loop?

Good idea, will do. Have had a few more gos with it, saw 30 people logged in yesterday (although it seems to be the case some just log in and sit at the start line haha...you keep going past them lap after lap). I also had a go with EXR Row on my rower and Zwift on the bikeerg - found both a bit muc...

Re: Try the Real Time Loop?

Had a go at the loop today for the first time as was feeling pretty unmotivated - was nice to do something a bit different than chasing or holding numbers like usual! Be nice if it displayed a lap timer/counter on screen, or had some other customisation other than track overview/close in. I do hope ...

Re: Back to cycling

I've been bike-erging over the rower for the last 4 months or so while I'm trying to get past a nasty case of tennis elbow. Think it is a great piece of kit, a very good alternative. Like the rower, till now I have just set and forget the drag factor (130), although must admit it would be nice if th...

Double logging should be solved with the current update.
I already faced this problem two weeks ago and reported it, got the response that the next update will fix it. The update was released yesterday.
Maybe that's done it then.....all was good after today's session!!

Re: Ergdata current release logs twice on android phone

My Android Ergdata has gone screwy over the last week or so as well - bikeerg logs are coming up as rows, and double recorded...and intervals/WODs also messed up. I've been deleting them and uploading via usb cable...hopefully the next update will fix!

Re: The difficulty to go again on rowerg after a little break

Agree with the others that yes, any sort of break is a set back. But on the bright side quite honestly, at age 34 a couple of weeks is nothing.... as you rightly say, couple of weeks to get back to where you were... Is no big deal in the grand scheme of things. When I was 34, job necessities forced ...

Re: Chair Rollers

Also, C2 sells the rollers for $8. You need two of them. https://shop.concept2.com/parts/104-seat-roller-top.html Yep...I'd pick up some of these for the price they cost rather than try to fix your old ones. The latest redesigned ones seem a bit harder wearing to me, and don't seem to attract grime...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

I had 60min steady state today - after a more or less 'hard' weekend with some friends from saturday to sunday (and some beer and cocktails 😇). After 20mins I closed my eyes until the end. Normally I sync my stroke with the time passing by and get exactly 1200 strokes @r20. Today I got 1203, but a ...

Re: EXR

I gave it a try, but didn't really do a lot for me either. I think that no app would though....I seem happy enough as I've always been, just listening to music and looking at the numbers on PM5 (and ErgData for the last couple of years or so).

Re: About folding or not folding

I just tip mine up on end in one piece to store.... But if I had young kids running around I'd either break it down into the two halves or decide some sort of anchor system as suggested by the above poster. I wouldn't worry about scratching or any other damage, either way.... multiple breakdowns won...

Re: Watts and Damper Setting

I'm fairly sure my technique is good but am curious why I seem to struggle so much on lower settings? I struggled with this for a very long time after years of 'set it to 10', simply for not knowing any better. My fastest lifetimes rows were all done with the damper somewhere between 8 and 10 (back...

Re: Elevated Heart Rate and Optimal RowErg Workout

Is it better to have an elevated heart rate before commencing a RowErg Workout No doubt if young you can work very hard from dead cold. But as you age there will be a certain delay. Very true. Back in the day for a 2k, I'd do a bit of stretching, maybe some token light paddling for a few minutes, t...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Last minute Season Best 2K - took seven seconds out of my last initial benchmark attempt from 9 days ago for a 7:22.6. Big increase in just nine days. Great end to the season. Thanks! I'd like to say I could do the same in another 9 days....but that's the easy initial gain over with, and now dealin...
