Some race organisers (in th UK anyway) will set up the races dependant on the predicted time of the competitors.<br />This makes for better/closer racing for the crowds (and I end up with the 50-59 boys )

There isn't one.<br />It's purely down to personal preferences.<br /><br />As a guide (no more) with a clean ergo a damper setting around 4 should give you a drag factor of about 125-130.<br />This is pretty much the ballpark for competition/training.
