I think everyone is different but common sense tells you to rest the day (or 2) before. I know some like to do some race starts the day before or even 2-4 500's at race pace etc. You know your body best so are in the best position to make a judgement.

Personally I have 1 days rest but Il...

I would first like to state that from what I have read about John Rupp and especially his comments on the Ranger thread I dont agree with most what he says and so it pains me a great deal to agree with him on this matter that yes you can at 6"2' get down to LWT (for erging) quite easily and still be...
What is the point of racing if the times achieved don't count?

ranger

But they do count, and if you say they dont your just stupid. The reason YOUR times wouldnt count is because your personality wouldnt fit in the Team. No matter that you would "probably" have...

Same things happened to mine. I found it started to give me callouses/blisters so I replaced it. The new one though seems to be made of harder rubber and is giving me bad blisters still even after a couple of months. I must just have girly hands though as others dont complain.

I have a RHR of 35 and the max I have seen on the erg is 186. I train a lot using HR and within the bands given to me from the lactate profiling I had done a few months back. I only use this for UT2 and UT1 rowing though, on intervals I use pace as my guide. Best HR restricted row I have done is a H...

I erg 6 days a week except in the summer when a couple of those erg sessions are dropped for bike rides. I split my training down into phases so all summer I am doing UT2 and UT1 strictly to SPM and HR, in the winter I start introducing the intervals as races approach. My HR bands are from lactate t...

I have a RHR of 35 - probably lower as that was taken at 6pm just before an erging session and after only a few minutes of sitting still. I wouldnt worry about a low RHR but there is no harm in checking with your doctor, Im sure they wont mind.

George, it really does sound like its time to buy your own erg, tell the other half you will be able to spend more quality time with her if you had your own erg, it worked for me. She has since learnt what it actually means is that instead or training every other day like I used to when I went to th...

I love my erg, I think she is beautiful, not as beautiful as the girlfriend but still beautiful. I think its the greatest thing I have ever bought (I didnt buy the girlfriend). I have a huge amount of respect for it and I know that even if I stop competing and racing on the erg I will always use it ...
