Re: Valentine Challange Question
Tsnor, Great explanation on how those super large numbers popped up. It is always better to see an attributable cause, such as an entry error, rather that hacking or cheating. I did learn that a drill wont work to inflate the numbers so with that and the 2's compliment refresher I am smarter now tha...

Valentine Challange Question
Hi All, I was looking at the Valentine challenge honor board and I noticed that one individual had over 4 billion meters in 2 days so far. A second individual had over 2 billion and he had a little over a million meters in a year plus before the challenge started. My question is how do these people ...

Re: 11 inactive sedentary years
Hi Jerry, Sounds like you are having a great time. I have done several trips into the Quetico Provincial Park (the beautiful Canadian side of Boundary Waters) and it was always fun. I am convinced that portage translated to English means to carry heavy stuff and sweat profusely. Our goal was a singl...

Re: 11 inactive sedentary years
The way I read it as a minimum of 21.000 ,meters for the Solstice Challenge. By adding the extra 97 you qualify for the HM. You could row 30K and it would still cover the challenge. The HM has an exact requirement of 21,097. If you are going to do the HM I believe that is done in one rowing session....

Re: 11 inactive sedentary years
Hi Holly, great to hear that you are back to rowing and a 10K no less. I have the Polar H10 as well and I feel it is critical to make sure that I stay in the correct BPM range. Keep up the good work. I am impressed with your weight loss. I was about 241 lbs when I had my event, close to your peak. I...

Re: 11 inactive sedentary years
Hi Holly, I am happy to hear that you had a successful procedure and are in the healing process. Well at least back online :-) I hope that you cardio rehab goes well for you. Since you went through it once you at least have a clue on what to expect. Happy thoughts and prayers your way as you go thro...

Re: 11 inactive sedentary years
Holly, Good Luck on your procedure on Thursday. I hope that you have no complications and your cardio rehab people let you get back to rowing in a short time. I will be adding you to my prayer list.

Re: 11 inactive sedentary years
Hi Holly, I have never heard of a stress test described like you did. Very funny. When I had mine done, chemically, there were 2 medical people doing the test and I never though about orgasming. I was too busy trying not to vomit. I had a reaction with the drugs they used. I tend to be sensitive to ...

Re: Mud season madness 22
Keep on rowing Edward, you are almost there and you should be able to do your 25.. I was able to row my 25th 10K this morning :-) Holly thank you for challenging by example. I would never even tried to row a 10K until after reading some of your posts. I was going to be content to stay in the 5K group.

Re: Testicles getting scrunched
Now that I am done wincing in sympathy have you tried cycling shorts or better yet bibs. When I bike I prefer the bibs because they stay in place better with less constriction in the waist area. The spandex keeps things snugged up and the chamois provides a little extra padding in the seat area. If ...

Re: Mud season m:adness 22
I have to pick slow songs when I row or none at all. If I have a faster song on or one with a good beat I close my eyes and get lost in the music. When the song ends and I open my eyes I can see that I have exceeded my HR limit and I gotta slow my pace to get my HR back under the limit. If it wasn't...

Re: Mud season madness 22
Hi Holly, It;s great to hear that you have bounced back so quickly and are back doing 10K's. I am sure that you will catch up on your contest and be in the top 10. If you weren't competitive you would still be resting up. I am up to 19 - 10 K's so I am within reach unless I get breathed on by the wr...

Re: Mud season madness 22
Hi Holly, I hope that you are feeling better and can post here again soon. It looks like you were the main reason for the rest of us posting. I have 14 - 10 K's in so far and today I rowed on my normal skip day. I may have to take a trip to Boston to see my new grandson (born 2/22/22) so I have to r...

Re: Mud season madness 22
Hi Holly, Sorry to hear that you picked up Covid. I hope that you have a mild case and are asymptomatic. Take it easy and heal up. There will always be rowing to do. I will miss seeing your progress reports but I am sure that you will be around. Good luck with the Cardiologist letting you off your b...

Re: Mud season madness 22
I work 10 hour days and its hard for me to get motivated. 12 hour shifts would do me in as well. My skip day is Wednesday's because I have to be at a meeting early in the morning at a construction site away from my office. Keep on rowing, remember this is for your heart, not a piece of paper so do n...
