Re: First (and Failed) HM Attempt
To ALL you guys and gals posting on here about how badly you think you have done and beating yourselves up over your times etc. Do not be so harsh on yourselves - really, your times are things of fantasy to me and spur me on to achieve better but you beat yourselves up. You all make me laugh in a go...

Re: Foot pain
Do you have any callouses or hard skin on the outer part of the foot there? Sometimes the skin can press on the bone. Or are you pushing with the outside of your feet because your are not to flexible and parting your legs to reach forward. Sometimes having larger stomach area can cause this style o...

Re: How to make a 10k row a bit more interesting
I try to vary intensity a bit. I use a heartrate monitor (chest strap) and most 10K's I try to focus on consistency of the row and keeping it below 70% of my maximum heartrate. Just to make sure I stay relaxed. Several trainings per week are like that. Some are all-out but not too many as I need re...

Re: How to make a 10k row a bit more interesting
It's never terribly exciting, but I break it into three 3333m pieces with 3 min breaks, which helps. On thing that really helps when doing 5k is the pre-programmed 2000, 1500, 1000, 500 workout C2 has in the PM. For me the time really flies on that, as I try to do it with negative splits. You could...

Re: How to make a 10k row a bit more interesting
Hi Tug, there is something satisfying about the 10k, I mean it's worth getting changed for, setting up the erg, cleaning the Rower down, attaching the h10, taking a couple of gulps of iced water, a good puff of air before the first pull... before setting off on your journey, a proper work out, not ...

How to make a 10k row a bit more interesting
Looking for some input, help and advice to liven up / make interesting my 3 x 10k erg rowing sessions a week. I currently try to concentrate on form and effort during the row as an example :- my Monday row was trying to put constant effort in from 10,000 down to 3 or 4k and was on for a good PB of 2...

Re: Nasal Breathing 5K - thoughts?
I've just recorded and uploaded a video of me rowing 5000m only breathing through my nose. https://youtu.be/OwQBBaihQ88 1) Lower your drag factor. 2) Row at a high rate (around 26) 3) If you need to breathe out your mouth - stop rowing. When you're ok - start rowing and nasal breathing again 4) Sto...

Re: 11 inactive sedentary years
Tugg, add me as a training partner, there is nothing like a bit of healthy competition to spur you on, I'm second of four at the moment, the lead Rower is over 100k in front of me, but it's early season yet and I'm just getting into my routine.... Famous last words π Fourteen days until the summer ...

Re: 11 inactive sedentary years
Well done Jerry amazing work, good to see your rehab is going well to plan. I've done three 10k rows in the last three days, each getting progressivly quicker, as the front of my heart realises it has something to contribute to the party. It's like putting braided oil hoses on an old kawasaki rex, ...

Re: 11 inactive sedentary years
Warnie, what a small world π Well after ten days puffing and panting about the place, I got on my Concept2 today and I'm now 10k to the good, nothing special about fifty ish minutes, heart rate up to 130,sats stable at 100%.. So all good. It was a bit like, starting an old lawn mower, once I got th...

Re: 11 inactive sedentary years
Good to hear from you Tugger. Hey Jerry, Nice to see you are well and active my friend, have to say you and Holly62 are quite the inspiration to me when I look at your posted distances and split times. They spur me on no end to keep pushing forward, I have only been seriously erg rowing since May 2...

Re: PM5: Bluetooth & ANT Connection Drops
I have been having similar issue with the C2E PM5 Bluetooth dropping out and my Samsung phone screen freezing and losing everything rowed to that point with the same 'row finished yes or no' pop up appearing. This has been a nightmare during April as I have been taking part in the April Fools challe...

Re: PM5 Row logging issue
Okay so V22 or V32 its still an old version of the PM5, i.e its a gen 1 PM5 and now we are up to a gen 3 PM5. There are some serious compatibility issues with the Bluetooth and what phone your using. I have to use my old Samsung Phone from 2017 to work with the old gen 1 PM5. My old phone doesn't e...
