Should I just try and row every other day for a bit, slowly increase distance, and really focus on form?
That's it! :)
And have fun on this journey of course

Thanks for the tips! I’m new to team challenges too, and your advice about checking the C2 Log and CTC site is really useful. I’ll look into some team names and see what fits. Appreciate the help!
The CTC moved to insideindoor.com few month ago :)

Re: observed (semi) interesting stats

On r20 it is probably 1:3, on r40 I assume it tends to be 1:1. Not according to Luke Walton: https://youtu.be/iv9PVMUV6Dc No quantified data, he's only counting some random "time". He's not using the same kind of stroke in his "lazy r18" and stronger r28, so obviously this will affect the ratio as ...

Re: observed (semi) interesting stats

It's more the time 3s for r20 1.5s for r40 - and I know I don't spend the same time pushing as in recovery so it implies that I've got the timing ratios about right. Aren't those 'sec per stroke' stats just 60/(Stroke rate)? In other words, just a different way of expressing stroke rate, without sa...

Re: What is the skierg equivalent of sub 7:00 row?

For me skierg is ~4-5s/500 slower, so 7:15-7:20 would be an equivalent.
As technique on rower and skierg is very individual and has varying levels for everyone, it is difficult to compare. Bad technique on the skierg will lead to higher power leakage compared to the rowerg - from my point of view.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Had ca. 6.6km rough on water meters in the dragonboat yesterday morning, it was a great training. Today a bit wasted, despite a good night, so it's an evidence for proper intensity  During training I was asked to change my seat from 3rd to the first bank, providing stroke rhythm and intensity f...

Re: Integration between strap-based ErgData and wrist-based activity trackers

I have a Garmin FR265, and I have to manually start an indoor rowing activity, while also tracking on ergdata, to get two sessions in Garmin Connect. If I don't start or save the session on my watch, I only get the ergdata session. Note that when I do track both ways, only the ergdata session track...

Really not having much luck with it are you!
No, but to be honest, it's probably my fault for most of it. My lack of DIY skills isn't a good starting point, and I was going sub one min pace when it failed...🤥

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Went for the CTC again today, but warmup was too short and I couldn't get into the right mood. Well, I improved, but still lack peak power by 10-12% and cannot get down significantly under 1:20. Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr S/M ♥️ 1:52.6 700 1:20.4 673 2615 52 166 0:16.2 100 1:21.0 659 2566 55 158 ...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Should have been 8 x 500 3r. With about 50m remaining on the penultimate interval, the hangar shaft bolt snapped AGAIN. I'd like to say it's due to my extreme power, but it's probably due to my poor DIY, or a faulty part. I was just getting into it too, and squeezing more out as my confidence grew,...

Re: HRM interference

My experience is very different from gvcormac, my watch records HR very well during rowing, as long as it is a steady state session without hard gripping and fast strokes. +-3 bpm average compared to my belt, but sometimes with glitches. I tried a few times with Ant+ as described and it worked well,...

Re: Syncing between Ergdata and PM5

My understanding is you can either hit the menu button twice, or wait 6 seconds, after you stop, and hit it once. FWIW I've never heard of that. I simply end the piece - often then need some moments (!) which may be more than 6 secs - but either straight away or in a few seconds I only ever press m...
