For both of you the best bet is Forum Flyers. They're international, they have military vet members, they're welcoming.

Re: 2k time trial for a new rower
My time was 8:02.7 (I am a 36 year old male primarily a distance runner). How tall are you? How much do you weigh? Because nobody can advise you what's possible without knowing those pieces. Also bear in mind that rowing is a LEGS sport, you push with the legs your DO NOT pull with the arms / upper...

I suspect we need some photos. Post them on https://imgur.com post the PHPBB2 code on here.
Also have you contacted Concept2 for after sales service (which they're very good at).

Re: PM3 hangs during firmware update
Disconnect the USB-B lead, remove the batteries, wait for 30 minutes. Then re-install the batteries and try again.Minimark069 wrote: ↑September 3rd, 2024, 12:41 amI don’t have a reset button on my Pm3 is there anyway to perform this?

The PM3 hasn't been built since 2014, so best of luck with your searches.
Upgrading to a PM5 may be a better, more cost effective option.

Re: PM5 average stroke rate - what's occurring?
The problem is that Concept2 got some of their maths wrong with the first of the electronic performance monitors, they still round down for everything. Because they want to keep the numbers consistent (between a PM1 and a PM5 ‽) they have always stuck with rounding down (even when rounding up would ...

Give up, the PM2 hasn't been built since 2003. Look for a PM4 or PM5 you will have more success.

Re: Logging data from a public gym device
I guess nobody wants to take a laptop to the gym to sync workouts from a gym machine to logbook :D You guess wrongly. I've taken my laptop in (in the past) to update firmware on the ergos. I've taken a USB stick loaded with new firmware to a machine in South Africa and these days I'll use my phone.

Re: Rowing for about 10 days - not sure how good/bad my numbers are
You need to row harder.
At 5' 11" you should be able to better 2:30 pace - which is 12,000m for 1 hour.
Rowing is a legs sport, not upper arms. Drive the stroke with your legs.

Have you tried connecting your laptop to your PM4 with a USB-A to USB-B printer cable inserted in the bottom of the PM4?

Looks like a Concept2 model to me.
It's a fairly recent Model D with PM5 Rowing Ergo. It's not the latest RowErg.

Re: Fans
No, but you'll get "gloves are for folks who need to harden up their hands". If you like having sweaty, soft, wrinkled hands keep up with the gloves.hikeplusrow wrote: ↑August 5th, 2024, 3:27 pmGreat to know there are accomplished ergers who use gloves. I thought we'd have some 'gloves are for wimps' comments by now

There's no attachment.
To row 500m you need to program the PM5 for 500m, not use "just row".
Main menu -> Select workout -> Single distance -> dial in 500m then press the check mark ✓.
