Re: ergdata and apple watch
I just did some testing, and I’m pretty sure the watch and the PM5 don’t communicate at all. It seems the watch only talks to the ErgData app on the iPhone. The heart rate doesn’t display on the PM5. Nothing shows on the Connect screen. One disappointing consequence is that using ErgData on an iPad ...

Re: ergdata and apple watch
This is from memory, so please forgive any errors. I believe when ErgData first launches it asks permission to read and write health data. I don’t recall if the new version 2.0 had to ask permission again, or if it just inherited those permissions from the old version. That should be a one-time sett...

Re: ergdata and apple watch
Whoa! Ergdata version 2.0 is a *major* update. Apple Watch heart rate support (goodbye chest strap!), and a watch app. Portrait orientation. Create/select workouts from the iPhone app. Auto-upload workouts to log. Lots of good stuff. The watch complication logo is a very dark gray circle -- I can ba...

Re: ergdata and apple watch
The last time I forgot to start a workout on my watch, a few minutes in it tapped me and said it detected a rowing workout; would I like to start one? It captured data before that point, too. Nice work, Apple!

Re: ergdata and apple watch
Yes, at least since I've had an Apple Watch (4+ years), Apple has made the distinction between a workout and the underlying data (heart rate, calories, etc). They can be manipulated separately; e.g., you can delete a workout but the other data remains; or in this scenario, delete one of the two simu...

Re: ergdata and apple watch
Not necessarily. If C2 used the GymKit API they could do it.That integration is on the Apple end.

Re: ergdata and apple watch
I have sometimes problems that no or only a fraction of the heart rate data is stored in apple health app My guess is that the Apple Watch doesn't know there's a workout in progress, and thus doesn't do continuous heart rate readings. The watch only does occasional samples when it doesn't know you'...
