Looks like dyno making a comeback? (I'm not well versed in how that machine worked, apologies if I'm off-base.)
Seems interesting. Not sure we need one, but I'd love to see more about it.

Re: PM5 obsolete?
Great discussion. As a home user looking to buy an indoor rowing machine, my top criteria was: * strong and accurate analytics reporting * rugged design with low/easy maintenance; bonus points if the company has a strong reputation for customer support * no running subscription fees * no requirement...

Re: Firmware update via Bluetooth
... Like what if the internet goes out mid update? If that happens, then the update won't take effect - the process would fail before any changes are made on the PM5 and you'd just have to try again later. Update via BT works like this: * use BT to transfer the update file from your phone to PM5 * ...

Re: Is Meters/Stroke a Useful Metric?
Agreed with others. It's a useful metric while rowing since variation usually indicates that my form and/or pacing has shifted and might need attention... but generally seems less useful after the fact. Number to shoot for depends on a bunch of factors... and may vary per person or workout. 10 sound...

Re: 2023 Holiday Challange PIN - did you ever get one?
No pin yet (Canada) but no reason to doubt it'll arrive. When you ask about viewing all challenges from last year, what do you mean exactly? You can click on the (2024) event info from the challenge calendar, and find buttons to show honor board results from previous years. Not sure if that is what ...

Re: Firmware update via Bluetooth
Definitely slower, but much more convenient.! (My home computer uses Linux, so updating my pm5 was a hassle before.) I know a few people have been vocal about this method not working as well for them, and how directly linking to a PC with the C2 Utility app is the best way to update - but I'm very t...

Re: Marathon training
I'm also thinking about trying a marathon distance. Haven't done longer than a half-marathon previously, after an injury threw off my previous conditioning.

Re: New member.
A fellow Canadian? Love it! (I'm in NB.) Do you have a phone or tablet available when using your RowErg? If so, the ErgData app from Concept2 makes programing your PM5 much easier. That app connects to the PM5 using bluetooth, and then automatically configures your PM5 settings after you select a wo...

Sounds like fun! I wish I lived in a location with enough population to see something like this happen.
Events where you get to row in person, with a bunch of other people who are having fun, are the absolute best!

Sounds exactly like this post: https://www.c2forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=207621 Short summary: yes, this is normal. Keep working and you'll improve. ... I didn’t find the workout to be that strenuous. I wasn't gasping for breath at any point ... It does sound like you should focus on putting more ...

Re: New bike clicking
My BikeErg has a clicking problem too - but only when I reach a cadence where my shoelace hits the pedal shaft fast enough.

Re: Honest opinion, should I even try ?
That's a fantastic PR time for the full marathon. Great job! It's a shame that your arms gave out near the end, otherwise you would've hit target for sure... but that just means you have motivation to come back stronger next time. :) Are you glad that you decided to go through with it, especially af...

Re: Honest opinion, should I even try ?
So, uh, why wouldn't you try?
There isn't anything to lose, and if it doesn't work out this time then you'll know where you stand for a future attempt.
Go for it! I think you'll do great, and have fun doing it.
