Re: Pondering the Beginner Pete Plan

Thank you for your encouragement, guys. :) Well, I really don't want to compare my numbers. I don't want to compete and I am generally just rowing for myself: fitness, health, feeling good. So far, so good. But I am of course interested in seeing progress. And when I see people rowing SS at ~2:05 wi...

Week 6, Session 3. I extended the distance to ~8.000 meters as it felt quite good. Re: Pondering the Beginner Pete Plan

So, for the interval sessions as harder stuff, would you recommend to go all-out? BPP explained the first longer interval session in week 3 (2x 2000m) to be 2 seconds faster than the slow session which didn't really feel like a big difference in intensity... I don't want to pretend that I know more...

Re: Pondering the Beginner Pete Plan

Very impressive. :D Did you follow the BPP with 3 sessions/week during these 9 months? Thanks for your input, guys. Currently I'm doing 3-4 sessions of the BPP per week. As I'm in week 6, the long sessions are still quite short with less than 8k. So I think it would make more sense to slow down the ...

Re: Pondering the Beginner Pete Plan

Thank you for your replies. It is all based on your real HR max, but obviously your HR was shooting to high for a "real" steady state. Typically 2k+25 is near to what can be used for steady state. 2k+25, wow that seems quite slow. :D Wouldn't probably feel like a workout at all. I find that classify...

Re: Looking for general guidance for a newbie

Yeah, that site has only very basic informations. And the screenshot in the upper right is funny. :D I would like to see somebody pulling such a high force curve at only 2:26/500m

Re: Is this zone 2 ?

Have you tried this calculator?

https://www.freespiritsrowing.com/forum ... calculator

I'm not really sure what you mean with Zone 2 but an average HR of 153 and above would be in the upper range of UT1 in my HR zones.

Re: Looking for general guidance for a newbie

Question regarding the force curve: When you're doing steady state sessions, does your force curve have such a high top? My force curve basically looks like the good curve, but way more stretched and flatter... I can only get such a force curve (+ maybe a little front loaded) when I'm very explosiv...

Re: Pondering the Beginner Pete Plan

I'm in week 4 of the BPP right now. Everything is working fine, but I still don't really know if I pace the sessions right. SS works around 2:09 pace and average watts 160. I always row with a rather low spm 18-20, heart rate around 160. It feels challenging but doable and I'm not completely exhaust...

Re: Advanced beginner looking for decent training plan

Thanks for your replies so far. I think I'll stick to the BPP for now.

Any recommendations how to mix in kettlebell and body weight training?

Advanced beginner looking for decent training plan

Hi guys, I've been reading a lot in this forum and I love all the discussions and the advises from the experienced rowers. I got my C2 a year ago and had been training in the last winter. I especially looked for a training at home and in the dark time of the year. In summer i prefer riding on my gra...
