Re: Cardiac drift
I'm mainly doing longer rows (my log books all out of whack) and try to keep myself towards the top of zone 2. As I'm not very fit at the mo I'm not sure (on my HR) what is drift and what is fatigue. I suppose it'll be easier to tell as I get fitter. I did a good few weeks early in the year just pic...

Re: Supplements While Rowing?
I'm mainly doing long low intensity sessions but find the cramps later on a pita so pop an electrolyte tablet at the 60 minute mark and then one every for every additional 30 minutes

Cardiac drift - do you adjust for it to keep yourself in the "correct" zone

For full disclosure you should be aware the mileage can be reset quite easily (so it is possible it's done a lot more meters than 75k)

Re: C2 Model D - Chain making ratcheting noise
Is this worth doing as a periodic maintainence as well?Carl Watts wrote: ↑October 11th, 2021, 5:52 pmPull the flywheel off and put a couple of drops of oil on the one way roller bearing on the inside of the flywheel.
You may be able to save the bearing, however by the time they start to play up they are generally stuffed.

Re: Diameter and length of screw holding monitor arm?
Just an idle curiosity but this doesn't seem like an item that would typically need replacing? Did you lose it some how?

Lower monitor arm
Does the monitor arm lend itself to being flipped around?
So it can be in a more horizontal position when rowing.

Re: Mat for SkiErg with floor stand
As the others have said the floor stand is enough, you may want a towel for the floor stand as the sweat marks it.

Re: When to have a break in training ?
His logs that have HR with them infer that he's doing all his training in zone 4? Admittedly it only shows the training he doing on the rowerg
I'd be concerned he runs the risk of plateauing (almost constantly?) and slowing down long term gains. As well as being prone to injury.

Re: When to have a break in training ?
Maybe it’s the time for a little rest? Maybe a scheme like 4w hard / 1w rest per month is better? How much my muscles fibers have to rest to improve my perf at best? In the long term that's the opposite to what you should be aiming for. https://www.howardluksmd.com/sports-medicine/zone-2-hr-trainin...

Re: Adding external resistance
Back in the day we used to do hill sprints (running) whilst holding out breath with the recovery being a slow jog back down the hill. Or a lap under water (...swimming) followed by a length sprint followed by jumping out the pool 10 times. I'm sure you could incorporate some kind of hypoventilation ...

Re: Rate my rowing routine - feedback appreciated
I agree with Steve, and if you can find the time, rowing for longer will be beneficial: you should lose more weight that way. HIIT sessions are fine, but you won't make much progress if that is all you do, which may not be an issue for you. Variety is key if you want to improve. Finally I'd also sa...

Re: Max heart rate
90% of the training you are doing should be low intensity Zone 2 work which is generalised to be 60-70% of your max heart rate.

Re: ErgData or PM5 for HR strap.
Connect your HR strap to the PM5, then start up the Erg app and connect it to your PM5, then select your rowing session. Any other sequence of order seems to upset the Erg app. I think the general advice is to never connect your HR strap/monitor straight to the Erg app. I'm using the H10 and have on...

Re: Max heart rate
Thank you.
It was mainly due to having not checked it for a good 10 years and I was aware it decreases as you get older.
I wasn't aware I needed to adjust it to be sport specific - thank you.
I'll try interval approach with a couple aimed at being +4 minutes
