Thanks all
I've realised that just starting rowing on the rower works - app detects it fine.
So pressing "Just Row" is unnecessary if you're just going to row.
Sounds like it's only me, and the workaround is easier than what I was doing initially.

Problems with "Just Row" in the app
Happy May Day everyone. I wondered if anyone has this problem. My ANT+ HR monitor connects fine to the rower, and the phone (Pixel 3) connects fine too. But often "Just Row" then doesn't work. I press it, and nothing happens. Just a quiet bleep. Close and restart app fixes it. Anyone else? And can s...

Why Is It Called a Rowerg or Erg?
Hello Anyone has been in a gym has seen a Concept 2 rower, and maybe the name "Concept 2" has stuck in a lot of people's heads. It has to be one of the best known brands in fitness. So why isn't it called a "Concept 2 Rower"? What is an "Erg" anyway? Have you ever heard anyone use the word in normal...

PM5 Custom List Annoyance
Hullo What is the point of the Custom List? Wouldn't you think you'd be able to easily save workouts into it? Have you seen the instructions? I do a 1minute once or twice a week, and can't save it. But the Custom list has a range of stupid options. I work in IT, and refuse to get a USB stick, copy o...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Party a PB brag, partly a "Well Done" to those ahead of me. I'm 52, been doing weights for a few years, got my Erg a month ago to give me some CV fitness. First serious crack at 2k last night, aiming for sub 9 min, sneaked in at 8.58. My HR was at 145 alarmingly soon, and topped out at 160, which - ...

Re: Combining Weight Training With Rowing Machine
Don't change too many things at once re: diet. Thank you for the interesting reply. The point about not changing too much at once chimes with my other Lockdown Hobbies of sourdough and espresso - to improve on both of those you need to change one parameter at a time. So I'm starting IF (16/8) this ...

Re: Combining Weight Training With Rowing Machine
Thank you all for your considered and open-minded replies. I can see that cardio and weight training are doing different jobs, and combining them is trickier than I'd imagined. I hadn't considered "over-training" being a risk. I am concerned that I'm doing no cardio at the moment, and improving my C...

Combining Weight Training With Rowing Machine
Hello This is rather a premature question, because I'm still on the waiting list (7 weeks or so) but I am planning how I'll use the C2 Rower. I'm 52, 5'11, 88kg (190lb) and have been weight training at home for about 5 years (eg 5RM squat 110kg) I have managed to become stronger, but also fatter, an...
