Gyms in Bromley UK with C2

This is a strange one so I’m posting it here. I’ve belonged to several gym’s locally and had to leave them all because I’m not allowed to row in bear feet! It’s all I’ve ever done, putting shoes on affects my times and results. Yes I clean the machine and footplates each time but due to the frequenc...

Re: Father Time?

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this topic. MPx is correct I should have added size and weight. For the record 5ft 11in, 164Lbs so not lightweight or what I’d call a true heavyweight. The often used phrase ‘row slower to get faster’ and borne out in the link sent by Tsnor has always intrigued ...

Father Time?

I’m 59 yers old and have been ergoing for 25 years and some. PB’s for 2k, 5k, 10k etc were all achieved some time ago and I’m realistic enough to realise that getting near those times now is unlikely with work, family etc all taking precedence. But here’s the thing that’s annoying me sub 19.30 for 5...

Re: Longevity

Yes mitochondria is just one part of the longevity jigsaw and exercise can stimulate ATP in the same way as Intermittent fasting and cold therapy exposure does. When I look at so called Blue Zones around the world where people live active lives into their 90’s and have ventured near a gym it seems t...

Re: Longevity

Yes my primary goal is to generate ATP and I think most
studies conclude that’s best done at UT2.

Re: Longevity

Thanks for responding. I jump on 3/4 times a week nowadays as opposed to the 5/6 previously, and try to make time for weights etc If I put the hammer down for 10x500 with 1 min rec’ I know that’s going to take me out of UT2 but I figure if I don’t do those kind of sessions as often as I used to I’ve...

Longevity

Does anyone on the forum now just row for Longevity and if so what does their routine look like? I haven’t got the appetite or time to chase down my PB’s over 2/5/10k and I’m not sure doing so now would be beneficial to my overall well-being. I’m more interested in being able to continue to row and ...
