I saw a video which I will link here that might help with your long row effort. I have no idea if this method works, I haven’t tested it, I simply add this to the discussion for your perusal. Keep rowing!
How to Keep PM5 Turned On. Awesome rowing channel, btw.

Re: Issues with Slides & Model D
If you want the OEM slide rail plastic, it can be bought from Concept2 without needing to wonder if you have the right thing, though finding it on the website can be a bit tricky. https://shop.concept2.com/parts/558-slide-plastic-track-with-tape-kit.html That's super helpful. Thank you for taking t...

Re: Effect of Shock Cord from the slides on the stroke
I agree with the posts of others. I’m a new slides owner and never feel resistance from the slide bungees, although they are there. The bungees are super lightly “tuned”, with almost no resistance. They are thin and have a great degree of stretch to allow the erg to move on the slides freely from en...

Re: New Rowerg bad bearings out of the box?
Some bits of Polystyrene from the packaging has got into the flywheel area ? That’s exactly what mine was for new Concept 2 Model D January 2021. I kept rowing through the popcorn/crackling campfire sound and it went away in a week when I found lacking polystyrene on the carpet beneath the rower.

Re: Damper setting and drag rate confusion.
Hi, Mack. Welcome to the forum. I'm new to rowing also, about 6 months for me. The people that have replied to your thread are super knowledgeable and have helped me. I found this 7 minute video from Peter D., our head honcho at C2, very useful. He speaks about drag factor, technique, and using the ...

Re: Would adding Slides to my Model D be appropriate for me?
Ombrax, you would love them (if you have the space for them). As an avid rower, it seems in my mind that there is little to no chance you would buy them and say "I don't like these". If you ever get them, let us know. Thank you, Citroen. You always have great input and help many, including me. Your ...

Re: Would adding Slides to my Model D be appropriate for me?
I wished to update this thread for future readers who search Concept 2 Slides. I have used them now for about 6 weeks. Once again, I wish to thank those of you with experience who encouraged me to buy slides. I was incorrect about SPM, as the stroke pace is indeed quicker than on the static erg — 28...

Re: Issue with Slides - Hitting the Front
Did the issue get rectified with the new bungee cords? How did this turn out for you?
My slides have to be level side-to-side and front-to-back and parallel with one another so that I don’t bump ends. Once level, it takes a very incorrect stroke to bump ends.

Re: PM5 averages: how “deep” is the data
But if you set a say 60 min session and row as a single split it must take the data from the start to the end of the 60 mins?
[/quote]
Exactly, Nick. You understand the gist of the question.

That’s a great quote, Soul.
Apologies if that seemed like I was suggesting that you don’t buy the expensive 6 inches...I was more making a statement for myself.
I’d love to try a tall “E” style someday.

Re: PM5 averages: how “deep” is the data
Thanks, I will have to watch the predicted finish, Carl. That's not something I even looked at, but will now. I'm looking at overall average pace (xxx min/500m). Predicted finish, okay, I see it here on one screen of the PM5. Thank you, Citroen. Ah, an instantaneous reading at the split, that's why ...

PM5 averages: how “deep” is the data
I have a question regarding PM5 and ErgData averages. How far back does the software “look” when using data to calculate averages? Example: If a total workout average pace is 2:00 min/500m, did the software look back at the entire workout to get this average? Why do I ask? I notice that rowing with ...

Re: Model E discontinued
I would love to order me a set of the taller legs. Hopefully they will turn up in the parts list. I agree, and as a reply in this thread noted, in the legs-only retrofit package should be available in May for $180 a set. Add tax and shipping, this will be a costly 6 inches of height. :) I see from ...

Re: Would adding Slides to my Model D be appropriate for me?
Initial impressions: The pair of C2 slides arrived in a single 55 pound (25 kg) box, directly from Concept 2 Vermont, via Fed Ex. The shipping cost me a flat $45 US. Taking them out of the box, I was impressed by the heft (approx 24 pounds/11 kg each) and the refinement. They are solidly built, perf...
