Re: Bikeerg watts compared to power meter pedals watts

So pedals are better than a smart-trainer/bike which in turn are better than a bike-erg for showing the power actually produced by yourself. Cycling weekly does a fair review of the bikerg mentioning it's power measurement. https://www.cyclingweekly.com/reviews/bike-accessories/general-fitness-trai...

Bikeerg watts compared to power meter pedals watts

Hi All. I've been cycling with the Bikeerg for about 3 years and getting stronger/faster/more watts - but comparing outdoor riding (with a power meter arm) and indoor Bikeerging, I seem to be able to do a fair bit more watts outdoors for the same heart rate effort. I believe the Bikeerg measures wat...

Re: Pedal stroke analysis on a BikeErg

The Bikeerg can accept standard bike pedals - so if get some power meter pedals you can add those on and that should give you the stroke analysis figures you want.

Re: Used Bike Erg

I have a 2 year 4 month old Bikeerg and have put about 28 million metres on it - this is mine, not a gym version.. It doesn't really require any maintenance and is running as well as the day I bought it. The only thing that doesn't look as new on it is where I've sweated so much the pedals have star...

Re: BikeErg PB Thread.

A new PB for me today whilst doing a 125km workout on the Bikeerg. A total time of 3h 57m 25s at 236w with average heart rate of 133... I passed 100km in about 3h 10m 5s which would have given me a PB for that distance alone and was able to up the watts a bit for the last hour.. In hindsight I could...

Re: BikeErg Workouts and Training

Just got my bike erg last week. Not following a training plan at the moment, just doing the WODs that are posted and some sub-threshold stuff. Ranked workouts so far: 500m TT: 39.3 200M TT: 14.7 30MIN TT: 17,467m Goals: a 14 or sub 14s 200m, sub 39s 500m. Today was probably my best overall result, ...

Re: Smartwatch recommendations

Don't know if this helps, but when I use the ErgData app on my iPhone linked to the PM5, that syncs to my Fitbit account (via the log.Concept2.com > My Account > Edit Profile > Applications) so the workout is recorded there without me having to do anything.. So there isn't a direct link between the ...

Re: BikeErg PB Thread.

Did a 60 minute workout tonight for the new Concept2 ranking season.

Managed to beat my previous PB by 180ish metres - a total of 33,803 metres which is about 290 watts or 1.45.4 pace..

I put a lot of credit for this down to doing races and workouts on Zwift on the bikeerg..

Re: Training plan

I can recommend using Zwift and some of their training plans - the BikeErg connects to it without any problems, power, rpm etc all feed through and you get some accurate metrics/data out of Zwift - giving you the ability to accurately see how your fitness is improving. Zwift also has some virtual wo...

Long term impact..

Hi. I use the BikeErg 5-6 times per week, doing on average about 200-250km a week at around 240w average with peaks for sprints etc.. The one thing I'm unsure of is the impact of the noise from the BikeErg will have on my hearing over the long term. It is quite noisy at 240w of effort, but obviously...

Re: BikeERG and Zwift distance discrepancies

I've been using a Bikeerg with Zwift for the last 13-14 months and yes I see the same discrepancy as you. Taking a flat route like Tempus Fugit, i find that the Zwift distance is about 10% more than the Bikeerg distance.. If I go on a hilly route then the Bikeerg distance can be twice the Zwift dist...

Re: Dead air when getting out of the seat

Commenting on a few things OP has raised.. - I am 108KG - not had a problem with weight. - I'm using the BikeErg not as a spin bike but as an indoor trainer so I am sat on seat, feet pedaling away. - Most of my rides are 90mins or more (longest 3h 20m) and quite often have to stand on pedals every 1...

Re: BikeErg PB Thread.

Got a BikeErg back in August 2020 and doing regular long rides on it (about 275K per week) Recent PB for 10K: 17m05s - around 1:42.5 pace at about 325 watts and 88rpm.. Recent PB for 100K: 3h15m49s - around 1.57 pace... this duration is really hard on the seat bones/muscles! I have height on my side...
