Re: Inconsistent Tension? Chain Issue?

Thanks everyone. I’ll give it one more shot with the rag and then I’ll try customer support. Appreciate all of the help!

Re: Inconsistent Tension? Chain Issue?

You don't have to inspect each link individually - you can do them all at once by draping the chain over a finger (or similar object) so it bends sharply, then run your finger down the length of the chain. (It helps to have a helper pull the chain to its max extension so you have a long slack secti...

Inconsistent Tension? Chain Issue?

Hey all, I'm not sure if this is just a chain issue so I wanted to ask here. I apologize if this is a rehash. I bought my rower second hand on October 22nd. I've rowed about 1M meters since and have noticed that the tension seems inconsistent when I pull now. It's like there are little jumps or poin...

Re: Forum Flyers

So boys and girls, one month ago I registered myself in the Concept2 log and with the FF. Also joined a group or 2 on Facebook. Learned a lot from your posts. One month ago I did a 12,5KM with a SPM of 27 and a pace of 2,23. DF, never heard of. Yesterday I did my first HM in 1.29.47 with a SPM of 2...

Re: Forum Flyers

Welcome Max! Great to have you onboard! Congratulations on hitting 500k already, that is a phenomenal effort! Can't believe you've completed a HM, FM and a 100k! You are showing us all up! :D Thanks Neil. I've been keeping a pretty slow pace, but watching a lot of shows and movies while on the erg ...

Re: HM, FM, 30k, Century...Election Anxiety

Well done on the 7:14 :) as you haven't been targeting it that's an extremely good first go! There will be more to come without even doing any more training as it was your first go. I don't try 2k flat out very often - maybe 3x in the last 18 months? In fact I rarely do anything under 5k. If I have...

Re: HM, FM, 30k, Century...Election Anxiety

I revisit the force curve from time to time but that's all. If I feel my stroke is getting lazy which it is prone to do on long sessions, not that its prob that great anyway(!) then I might cycle through the display and spend a few strokes looking at the shape. Rightly or wrongly I find applying th...

Re: Forum Flyers

Nice to meet you all - I just joined the team via the CTC thread. My name is Max - I'm pretty new to rowing as any kind of sport (3 weeks in). My only background with it came as a part time crossfitter over the last decade. I'm trying to jump in head first. I bought an erg as part of a get healthy k...

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread

Hey all - I'm looking for a team to stay competitive in all of these lockdowns. I've been at this for ~3 weeks (when I bought my erg), so I'm hoping I'll be able to ask for some advice along the way. FWIW I'm 32 6'1' (184cm) and 225 lbs (100Kilos) and I average about ~24k/day (470km total). I'm happ...

Re: HM, FM, 30k, Century...Election Anxiety

Hard to say why you would get tired on a low DF. Its probably just getting the technique sorted. A couple of good Concept2 videos on technique, drag and intensity: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hiQ0Mqlk_Lo https://www.concept2.com/indoor-rowers/training/technique-videos/rowing-greater-intensity T...

You and nearly 7,000,000,000 other folks appear to have the better result. They just need to evict the orange one by Jan 20th.
Haha...exactly this.

Re: HM, FM, 30k, Century...Election Anxiety

Out of interest, what stroke rate are you using for each session? My 12hr challenge was for charity in memory of a very good friend who passed away from diabetes, and it was a lot more manageable than the 100k. I didn't plan my 100k very well at all, but circumstances meant I had to do it on that d...

Re: HM, FM, 30k, Century...Election Anxiety

Welcome and congratulations! How did you manage to row such long distances so soon after getting your erg? :o Most people can't ever do some of those distances. That is quite impressive. David Thanks David. This was more a matter of being stubborn and being ok with being slow than anything else. I ...
