Re: Forum Flyers

Seeing in the news the devastation caused by hurricane Helene--many pics and videos from Asheville, NC--I'm hoping our team members who reside there, Marc and Linda Voorhees, and Thom Green, are doing OK. From the looks of things, surviving a very bad situation is the best we can hope for. My though...

Re: Forum Flyers

Sadly the news with my erg buddy Terry (Dargan) is that his mesothelioma diagnosis is now terminal - no treatment has even slowed it down. Horrible thing happening to a genuinely fantastic world class masters athlete. Sorry to hear about your friend Terry. My thoughts and prayers go out to both of ...

Re: Forum Flyers

Good to see all the participants on the Virtual Team Challenge (saw a few names that I hadn't seen for a while). We already have 10 folks with >200 km and 25 folks >100 km - and a handful more who are on pace to hit the 100 k mark by the end of the month. Well done to all who took part. There are s...

Re: Forum Flyers

Happy New Year everone. Nice job to everyone who completed the Holiday Challenge charity last month. We had 32 Forum Flyers involved, so a decent participation. Welcome to new members Neil and Kathy. I hope being part of our team provides extra incentive for your workouts. Good luck to those of us t...

Re: Forum Flyers

my first sit on an erg post knee replacement today 3 weeks postop - it hasn't been a great recovery yet unfortunately but trying to keep moving and do some weights. Literally one leg only - the operated knee isn't flexing enough yet so sat on the floor 4min @2:33 = 780m Nice one-legged effort in th...

Re: Forum Flyers

Hello everyone! I am a 33-year-old man from Helsinki, and I recently joined the Forum Flyers. My main hobby is climbing. I haven't been rowing very actively since I started last year. Hopefully, this year I will find the motivation to row actively and improve, especially on short distances. I also ...

Re: Concept 2 "Triathlon"

Anyway, I used ethernet cables; it worked, but I'm not willing to hard-wire the ergs on a regular basis. I'm sure that'll change--small steps forward. My understanding is that the new PM5s have green CII logo, while older ones have white. I have had no problems with my three green ones. The oldest ...

Re: Concept 2 "Triathlon"

PM5 now has builtin "ergathlon" -- bike, row, ski in any order. One of the combos is 10k, 5k, 5k (10k bike is similar effort to 5k ski/row). Unfortunately the c2 logbook kms show up as "multierg" so don't credit toward to the challenges, which allow only one of bike, ski, row. But they count in you...

Re: Forum Flyers

Here is Elizabeth in one of the Versa Challenges yesterday: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGvP2WxD5x0 She just finished the 5th challenge. Not sure, but she might have moved up into 1st place overall. Have to wait until a second heat takes place to be sure. Thanks for the update, Rick. I'll miss ...

Re: Forum Flyers

Another mind-boggling effort by Elizabeth, topping both her recent personal best for the marathon and the women's world record for that distance. Wow! Sub-2:48:29.6, DONE. I left it all out on the field on this one. https://log.concept2.com/profile/1558013/log/69330797 Time Meters Pace Watts Cal/Hr ...

Re: Forum Flyers

Headsup for those of us who don’t check the C2 rankings⬇️ From contributor TSOR posting in Training subforum: . . . Re: PM5 firmware update

That works too. You've got to have your computer in the same room as your erg--mine normally isn't. It's easier to pop a usb drive into my pocket than carry my laptop from room to room.

Re: PM5 firmware update

Download the Concept2 Utility to your computer, use a usb drive to get a copy of the latest firmware update using the utility, insert the usb drive into the back of the PM5, and follow the prompts. The ability to update using ergdata on your phone via bluetooth is supposed to be an upcoming feature....

Re: Forum Flyers

-- Our team will be without my wife Linda for several more months. At the beginning of May she had a freak fall and broke her femur :-( On crunches and likely non-weight bearing for 8-12 weeks. She is attacking her rehab the same way we she attacks the erg....slow and steady :-) Wow, Mark, I'm sorr...

Re: Forum Flyers

I've just realised I am on a boat in the may c2ctc  I got suddenly ill, was admitted to hospital early December and was in hospital & rehab until May. Lost 9 kg and all my muscles, back up 5 now. First time back on the rower was early April; 1k in 6:45, now down to 5:22. Long way to go but I t...
