Re: Forum Flyers
I assume someone has to take a decision here.
I vote for a non-ranking piece. The crazy 8s. Or the mean 2k-100m

Re: Forum Flyers
I've just realised I am on a boat in the may c2ctc  I got suddenly ill, was admitted to hospital early December and was in hospital & rehab until May. Lost 9 kg and all my muscles, back up 5 now. First time back on the rower was early April; 1k in 6:45, now down to 5:22. Long way to go but I tr...

Re: Forum Flyers
Rididng the excuse wave too and having barely rowed at all this season; I am thinking if I only row once a month, I might as well make it the ctc.. I can see my lack in training though by Graham Woodley paddling away from me again.completing the last 12 CTC's in a row

Re: Forum Flyers
Congrats Neil and Sheena, that''s huge!
I have to investigate that nylon sock trick... I thought I was starting to sweat less, but turns out it was just the low room temperature in winter..

Re: Forum Flyers
Lots of fun in the new team Freddie!! Ugh, I fell down the stairs on Monday and am sporting the biggest, sowllen, now dark purple bruise in town on my left thigh. s Thought I can wing it as it's not the behind, but ouch no. Sorry no meters from me this week. I am enjoying all the discussion on the c...

Re: Forum Flyers
and was the only entrant in the race. Using the app the first time was a bit confusing I was entered in the race, but my PM never really connected, so I left to not mess it up for others. I saw 4 people were entered, but then in then it was only you left James. Seems I’m not the only one with issue...

Re: Music and keeping steady stroke rate/pace
Dark Horse rowing has playlists on Spotify. Search by "stroke rate", they are called e.g. Stroke rate 25 - Dark Horse Rowing. I have used them a few times, but they just contained too many songs/bands I don't like. So I have made my own with songs that make me happy, because in the end that's the on...

Re: Forum Flyers
I’d reckon the pacing is around 2k + 3 or 5k - 1. Hope this helps! Interesting. Should 2k and 5k pace only be 4secs apart? Then I am really off. Did it yesterday at 2k +2, which is 5k -6. I could probably do both faster by now though Flu/Covid in Dec blew me away a bit and the the cough has taken a...

Re: Forum Flyers
Just doing what I can when I can. As my university schedule has lightened recently, I have had time for five 100k pieces at an almost mind numbingly slow (for me) pace. I plan to do a couple more 100k pieces this month along with a slightly reduced ‘normal’ mileage. I can't even imagine what that f...

Re: Starting BPP?
Hi Theresa, Congrats on the Holiday challenge 100k. I don't think you need more convincing to start the BPP. Just wanted to say that I'm rooting for you. I have just finished week 9, and it's actually going much better than expected. Don't get intimidated by the endurance distance; all that happens ...

Re: Weightloss
Hi Steve,
I have found this: http://3.8.144.21/weightloss/interactive in a different threat a while ago. Haven't used it myself so can't comment on the effectiveness, but I like how you can enter weight and goals. Might be a nice start for inspiration until you get more qualified answers.
Greetings

Re: Forum Flyers
For the current CTC, what pace would you recommend? I've heard 2k -2. Was curious what it worked out to for others. Haven't typically done intervals but I did a preprogrammed one today (ugh!) and it went alright. Will tackle the CTC soon. I think you will be a faster than the 2:04. I did it in 2:06...
