Thank you.
Fingers crossed, I've pretty much had 12 months off so I've started back OK.
I've got to remember to do my ITB stretches this time!
I had the whole fatigue thing, memory loss and then joints exploding.
I am rowing slowly to be fair but heart rate is still good.

Back after covid shocker
Back rowing after two sets of covid led to complete abject misery and massive inflammatory responses to small injuries left me unable to walk.
9.4m metres done and its back to 20km days from tomorrow.
Wish me luck, I am getting to 10m by Christmas!

Re: Tips for Improving 10,000m Workouts
Thanks for all those replies. I will check out the PM3 later today and confirm / communicate the correct SPM, I apologize for communicating the incorrect SPM. I am aiming for PB's every time I row these 10km workouts, even if it is just by a few secs each time. Romper I would not focus so much on a...

Re: Tips for Improving 10,000m Workouts
Hi, I rowed a great deal in the season before last. I think I improved my technique most by rowing with minimal drag. With minimal drag, I found myself with a better force curve and a really improved leg drive. When the muscle memory gets stored you can then transfer it to higher drags. When I start...

Re: Patella Tendonitis
Hi Tony,
I think I must be unconsciously using my legs as a counterweight to stop falling off the back. I just don't straighten them without straps

Re: New to rowing
Hi well done! I started doing 20km a day in covid and got up to 8500km until I hit a problem. The learns for me were 1) low intensity rowing does not burn stress. Physically you do have to chuck in a more intense work out periodically 2) no strap rowing is good for the core. 3) I neglected stretches...

Re: Patella Tendonitis
Hi James
Had physio now. Apparently my sartorius muscle isn't really activating so kneecap has been on the wander.
Apparently it only fires when you straighten your knee so all my rowing and riding hasn't been doing that.
Fingers crossed I can rehab it.

Patella Tendonitis
Hello, well I've blown a fetlock. After a great Last season of 7300km, I've started a new job and only managed 961km this season. The combination of rowing, three hours driving and 9hours at a desk has stopped me with patella tendonitis so I can't walk. I don't think it's the rowing but I am wonderi...

Re: Worn out fingertips
Wonder what else those fingertips are doing. Stick a Band-Aid on one of your fingertips and see what you are doing when you notice something feels odd. (I hook the oar / erg handle rather than grip it. Probably bad form, but even then the force is on 2nd joint not the finger I think my constant row...

Re: Worn out fingertips
Sounds like you're over-gripping if you're getting callus formation on your fingertips. I hold the handle by the proximal phalanges of the hands. The medial & distal finger bones are relaxed, not gripping the handle with any pressure at all. Its odd because they dont touch the handle. I was wonderi...

I have those blisters but these are like a burn but without the water blister. My finger tips dont touch the handle. Wondering if the constant rowing is moving fluid in my fingers to the tips.

Worn out fingertips
Hi everyone, almost done 400 days of rowing 20km per day. Anybody else had issues with wearing off their finger tips? A couple of mine have gone shiny from the rowing i think.

Re: Struggling
Thanks again guys, happy to take advice from all sources. The goal is not necessarily to drop loads of weight just to stay healthy, I also do free weights a lot of walking as I live near mountains and bike riding. So I’m no novice. Appreciate the input. Strapless rowing smashed me even though id ro...
