Re: Reasonable goal setting advice
That's really good improvement, Sabrina. Have you looked at the beginner Pete's Plan? It actually seems pretty tailormade for you. It takes you from rowing 5k in week 1 to 10k in week 11. It has small, steady, increases in distance to get you used to spending more time on the rower. And these sessi...

Re: Pete Plan Thread
Tried rowing barefoot and without straps - back of my heel got a bit chafed. :) Yeah, I keep the shoes on when without straps. I'm not sure what you mean about the handle bar moving at the same speed as my seat -- it's the last thing to move after I push off -- I'm doing big push with legs, leaning...

Re: Pete Plan Thread
You guys - I have no idea HOW you do 21 spm - just pushing off with my legs and not pulling too hard, I am at 24-28 spm -- I have to really pause as I push / lean back / pull and reverse - is that normal? When you push with your legs, is the handle bar moving at the same speed your seat is? Maybe t...

Re: Pete Plan Thread
After week 7 I feelt a difference for the SS. Would be interesting if it's the same for you. If by SS you mean the 2 "long" distances I guess you mean how as they take longer now, I get to the endorphin release state around half way to the end. So BPP week 8. Again no optional session because of to...

Re: Pete Plan Thread
BPP Week 6. As advised, done with higher spm than previous weeks. Monday: 7.5k, 2:26.1 @21spm. S***** mental state before starting made it a bad day. Tuesday: 3x2k (4mn rest), 2:21.1 @23spm. Wednesday: 7.5k, 2:21.9 @21spm. This was a good day. Friday: 5k, started with 2:22.3 split, ended at 2:16.1. ...

Re: Pete Plan Thread
@polop is there a reason why you row with 15 spm? My first 5k rows during week 1 of the beginner plan were at a 2:27 pace with 20ish spm. I guess I got a better or different form set and to stay not too far from those 2:27 (the BPP distances are "add 500m each week stay at the same pace) I had to l...

BPP Week 4
6.5k - 31:20.0 @15spm 152HR
Felt good at the end, a lot better than the first one this week. Doing week 3 a second time because I did not feel those additional 500m was a good idea.

Re: Pete Plan Thread
Beginner Pete Plan week 2. Interval day.
750m1 - 2:15.8 @20spm 149hr
750m2 - 2:15.9 @19spm 157hr
750m3 - 2:15.6 @18spm 163hr
750m4 - 2:15.4 @18spm 168hr
So 2:15.7 pace, last week was 2:15.7 but spread between 2:12 and 2:20. Happy with the gain in consistency and lowered HR.
