Re: 10k Training Program
Thats kind of difficult to answer. So when I did my second 5k with the pace of the first (2:10.0) my HR worked out fine: https://i.imgur.com/FqlFS12.png Max HR peaked at 159 but only on 2 shot occasions. In the subsequent two sessions with 5.5k i reached my cap HR at just 8 and 16 Minutes in https:/...

Re: 10k Training Program
Hi everyone, so I did the first 8 workouts from the plan but am again unsure how to proceed exactly. The plan started with 5k pieces. Without going over my HR cap of 156 I was able to row the 5k distance at 2:10.0 pace. In week two the distance increased to 5.5k but the pace was supposed to stay at ...

Re: 10k Training Program
Yes, I was talking about the beginners plan (https://thepeteplan.wordpress.com/beginner-training/) that Citroen recommended. That's 5 days but it doesn't say where those 2 rest days are. So I'll just assume you train for 5 consecutive days and rest the next 2. Regarding intensity I am still quite un...

Re: 10k Training Program
So the plan is designed as 5 days of training (when optional days are done too) and 2 of rest every week. I had not understood it this way, thanks

Re: 10k Training Program
Hi everyone, I have two last questions regarding the Pete Program: 1. The program doesn't say anything about heart rate. Should I do the workouts (especially the long distances) at the cap HR calculated with your help? 2. Are rest days to be taken as needed or does anyone have suggestions about wher...

Re: 10k Training Program
I think I have not yet understood what to do that for. Am I supposed to perform a PB attempt on 2k? Or am I supposed to row at cap HR for 2k and take the pace from that for my 10k training?
Im not quite shure what data I should gather here.
Thank you all for answering my questions!

Re: 10k Training Program
What do you mean by standard test? I have googled a bit but didn't find anything standard. Do you mean rowing a 2k?

Re: 10k Training Program
I took two consecutive 15ks Sunday and Monday: 2020-04-06 15,000m 1:08:05.8 2:16.1 2020-04-05 15,000m 1:06:37.6 2:13.2 Even though not particularity hard to do my HR (drift) soared way faster on the second day so I took a break. Today I took my resting HR in the morning (last measurement was somewhe...

Re: Indoor Rowing Form
Hi, I might now where the back pain comes from. You are rounding in your lower back when going forward. What you should try instead is to go forward with a straight back, just like the hand of a clock. https://i.imgur.com/maNLugN.png https://www.concept2.com/files/images/indoor-rowers/muscles-used/t...

Re: 10k Training Program
Thanks everyone, i'll do another 15k today and will reduce the pace to 2:14 and see how that works out. @Dangerscouse I had never heard of cardiac drift before and have read a bit into it. The concept makes sense. Good think that heart rate bands are just that "bands" so with a HR cap of 158 I think...

Re: 10k Training Program
Okay just did a 15k: https://log.concept2.com/profile/1345241/log/43265882 I set the pace to 150W/2:12:6 but around the 43 minute mark I had to drop the pace to keep my HR below 158. When rowing with such low intensity I find a longer stroke with 19/20 strokes very comfortable. Would you suggest to ...

Re: 10k Training Program
Thanks Dangerscouse, what you suggest would look like this (since I calculated my 70% HR wrong as written above): Monday 15k 158 BPM HR Tuesday Rest or 15k 158 BPM HR Wednesday 15k 158 BPM HR Thursday Rest Friday 4 x 10min @ 180HR (3m rest) or 3 x 2.5k @ 10k pace (1:57:0) with 3m rest + 2.5k faster ...

Re: 10k Training Program
Thank you, now it has become much clearer. So its: [(HRmax - HRrest) * 0,7] + HRrest : [(199 - 63) * 0,7] + 63 = 158 This is the upper end of my heart rate zone 3 (159). Since you said cap this should be my upper limit and I probably should stay in the 139-158 range as the HR zone suggests. Thanks :...
