It's a really good read whether you're a rower or not.

Re: 50Plus - New Team
Well done to team rowers for all the metres done for holiday challenge. I've had a lay off for nine weeks or so and now slowly coming back recovering some semblance of fitness. Up for the virtual team challenge for January but my personal contribution will be modest, hopefully picking up a bit towar...

Re: 50Plus - New Team
+ one echoing all the positive posts above, been good fun.
Maybe a couple of days off ( rest those knees Dino) and back training for fun and the next challenge cos we've set the bar high for the next one

Re: 50Plus - New Team
3 days to go including today! We are so close to getting to a 200k average across the whole team. Some amazing efforts at the top of the board... esp. David who has just gone through 500k and Per who also went through 400k. So many people 100k+ and 200k+ but every meter counts from everyone! I have...

Re: 50Plus - New Team
Hi all, just wanted to apologize for dragging the team average down :( I'm a new rower (got my erg about week after the challenge started) so I'm still working on technique and base fitness. Also ... we've had some really nice weather lately and I wanted to get some more road and mountain biking mi...

Re: 50Plus - New Team
Paul I've also got Polar OH1 arm monitor and is comfortable and works well It helps as backup information on how training is going and theres plenty of useful information on the site here if you search HRMs. It can also distract you if you see it climbing quicker than you'd hope or going for a PB an...

Re: 50Plus - New Team
Great work team. Following on from Pudge's post regarding viewing team placings should you wish you can look where you are placed individually by pressing the individual button adjacent to team and apply the filter. You then can scroll down 6565 positions for your placing. If you go by your metres t...

Re: 50Plus - New Team
Can I add my welcome to our new members and hope that they enjoy the challenges. It does add another dimension for me rowing metres for the team and it's great to see the growth in membership and I am amazed at our collective effort thus far. I have been averaging 40k or thereabouts in training befo...

Agreed, encouraging start for us. Adds a bit of interest to training metres.
Amazing that over 40million metres completed already overall

Re: Seeking Aussie Team :)
Hi Rod,
50plus is a new team and I think that our team captain, Warnie, would welcome you to our growing international membership and being impressive is not a requirement here
Why not join a team ours or another for the challenge and move some metres

Re: Old Newbie - getting Started
Forever freedom Great name and welcome to the forum. Mike's helpful advice gives a good starting place for you and there is plenty of help here. So good advice that I learned was to lower the damper as your leg power can soon exhaust your cardiovascular system. Setting the DF to around 100 or 110 ma...

Re: 50Plus - New Team
Welcome to the team Michelle and 0007.
Got any targets as well as the team challenge .
Helps to have something to aim for.
I am building up endurance with the metres at 18s/m but need to do sessions with higher rating, say 20-24 .
My aim is 14k in 60mins
Enjoy your sessions
