Re: How do you focus?
I think Sascha said it best. Just put the least amount of data on the Erg Data screen and row. Any gadget (HR Monitor, Watch etc.) or data that doesn’t add to your enjoyment of rowing get rid of it. It’s not necessary. I like watching hr because it makes the row more interesting to me. Certainly not...

Re: New Rower Question
As others have said those are pretty good numbers for a new rower. Just a quick note on heart rate monitoring. If using a wrist based monitor the results are likely to low. As an example I cruised along at about 140 bpm today for a 10k as measured by my chest belt. Wrist based monitor never exceeded...

Re: Concentric v Eccentric revisited
I have seen a lot of opinions on the StrengthErg. I will give a few ways that this will help some not all. I am a disabled Veteran. I broke both ankles and had bones removed Now you can not compare disability to another disability. I need something like the StrengthErg for my legs so I can get some...

Re: Analyze and improve my form
Have to agree with what Dangerscouse has said. Unless there are glaring issues that might subject you to injury, just carry on. I did notice a little drop in your hands on the recovery that’s not necessary. Some use that as a cue to keep the knees down, but otherwise just extra movement. Not a big d...

Yep, knock yourself out, but the 3 in 1 recommended by C2 has carried me past 20 mil meters. So there is that.

Old school baseball players have a remedy for blisters. It’s where they separate the men from the boys.

Re: New to rowing & bicep tendonitis
Well … nobody is going to tell you to ignore your doctor’s advice on this forum. Since they said “full stop” then that’s probably best. As for what rowing form may have caused it, I’m sure you know from the videos you have been watching that you shouldn’t be yanking with your upper body and only usi...

Re: Staying interested (upgrade to pm5/apps, or bike smart trainer?)
Advice I've had from C2 tech in the past is not to use both a USB stick and Ergdata (or other app) at the same time. It works sometimes, but the app can get confused about what its saving where and the odd session can get lost. I always have a USB stick plugged in, as that stores the HR belt connec...

Re: Just finished my first 2k row.
Welcome to the forum and congrats on that first 2k. Would recommend looking into RowAlong workouts on YouTube for mechanics etc… John’s a great guy with plenty of focus on proper form and he keeps it pretty light hearted. https://youtu.be/5btg_WhRHaI?si=Ve8Z8Y1XwTj8rScL

Glad to have you in the forum Marelica. Congratulations on your fitness pursuits and in particular the C2 rowing. Good choice. May I suggest you give John Steventon a look at RowAlong Indoor Rowing. Tons of videos to follow, and plenty of conversation pertaining to technique in a light entertaining ...

Re: Lower s/m and exertion
As a lightweight similarly sized I will add this as encouragement. To hit your goal for an hour is a daunting task. I’d suggest many things but in relation to your initial goal, I’d first focus on your pace goal for 30’ sessions. Rate 20. My best was 2 yrs ago 2:03.9/500 for 30’. But I’m from a diff...

Re: Starting over AGAIN - every day OK?
Congrats on starting over at 79 and I love your signature tag line. Since you have your Doc’s ok, I think whatever you feel comfortable with should be fine. Curious if he or she provided you any guidelines like managing heart rate etc…? I would say let your recovery be your guide with one or two day...

Re: Display for avg/500m
Thank you for the replies. I will work on the form and try and pull harder. I don't know if anyone has mentioned it, but lowering the drag factor a bit 'might' help to get a good drive speed dependent on how big and powerful you are. Certainly helps skinny me to be at a df of around 110 instead of ...
