Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
100m PB - 14.1 :D As I had only time for a short session today and I didn't feel ready for a 500m TT I did the 100m. Erg was perfectly prepared (feet and drag as high as possible, enough weight on the front part, shorts that hold me on the seat), but the body was not at 100% (7 long training sessio...

Re: The virus thread
Bad news and no play at the gym makes Dean a dull boy! No access to the rowers or gym. Got mats and some weights as the Mrs is a Pilates teacher and I have a 5 ft long pull in bar and dip bars as well in the garden. Lots of stretching, core work and calisthenics it is then. No PB’s coming anytime so...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Wow, that's a great time for the 500m! Faster than me and rivals you with Martin, though I expect he goes lower soon. Did you adjust anything with drag and pacing or just do better? Thanks Mr T. I set a drag of 183 and just went off a little faster than usual and focused on the first 300m with as f...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Will have a go at the 100m and likely the 500m over the next week or so. Will try some different drag settings. The 1:20 will be great target to go for. Good luck. Cheers Went for a 500m PB earlier tonight and knocked another 1.3 seconds from the attempt 2 days ago. 121.4 seconds. Happy with the pr...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Thanks for the encouragement everyone. Hoping to improve the 100m as well Martin yes. That 14.4 is great timing and the 500m as well. What drag do prefer to set up with in the 100m & 500m? I’ve been doing lower back work as well, trap bar deadlifts and box squats for Power in the quads. Thank you D...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Had a couple of days rest and done a warm up then tried for a 500m PB. I felt I had a bit more in me from my PB earlier in the week, knocked 3 seconds off that time. Got 1:22.7 happy with that 6 weeks after my first attempt at any rowing. Simply went off faster in the first 7/8 strokes then picked ...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
100m PB 15.3 a few days ago. (Joint 5th in the old man category on Concept2 rankings)😬 Today 500m PB 1.25.6. Felt I had a little bit more in the 500m so will improve on that over the next few weeks. Been trying different drag settings and either setting off faster and then a natural decline as the r...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Done a few sprints today at the gym PB 15.5 100m. Been trying out different drag settings etc. Elbow tendinitis which I’ve had previously several times before from various other training has flared up again. Icing it and massage holds it off so I’ll ease off for a while before attempting any PB’s. A...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Started a week ago on the rower at the gym. Done 500m flat out @10 on the damper (not sure on what drag that is but I’ll just call it:painful) for 1:31. Got a bit of advice on here and videos so tried drag of 136 and got 127.6. Today I tried a drag of 143 and pulled 126.5. Happy with that to get th...

Re: Hello to all & looking for a bit of advice.
Hello all, I had a go on the concept2 rower a few days ago at my gym.just used to ignore it for years so thought I would give it a go. I went for a 500m distance row and got 1:31 dead. (My legs also felt dead after).I used damper setting 10. I have a training and bodybuilding background but am doin...

Re: Hello to all & looking for a bit of advice.
Thanks Citroen, Rod, Jamesg & Dangerscouse for the replies. Have a few things to check now and will keep motivated to improve. I like to set goals when training for any particular discipline as it helps to keep me focused so I will take that all in and post some results. They are really strong 500m ...
