Re: Forum Flyers
My apologies for long time no check in! I was going through a tough time, pain wise. And wasn't rowing during that. With the physiatrists and the neurosurgeon not being keen on me rowing, I thought I best listen, stop, see if my nerve pain improved with rowing completely out of the picture. It didn'...

Re: Forum Flyers
Sorry I've been absent. Had the first spinal steroid injection 12 days ago. And it HAS NOT HELPED AT ALL. It has only made pain WORSE and made it more difficult to walk and move around, even with my new walking stick. Instead of having wrong feeling in my feet, now it is sometimes the whole leg that...

Re: Forum Flyers
Today, no cold/numbness when I woke. Or wrongness in feet! A rowing day is a good day! So I didn't want to push anything, started out at my usual snailpace of 14 spm, then decided to see how SLOW I could go! There's more than one way to achieve a new personal best... :D Pretty slow. Managed a stroke...

Re: Forum Flyers
P.S. I got to see 'ground zero.' The PA showed me my MRI. She said that white areas around nerves are good and indicate space. Unfortunately, a lot of my nerves had not so much as a smidgen of white showing, just all dark. Which does explain the assorted nerve pains and the diagnosis of multiple pin...

Re: Forum Flyers
yes Cynthia - well paced and staying within your limits is smart. Just finishing is a big win I reckon Best of luck with the medicos. The virus story is pretty scary in parts of the US looking from a distance - stay safe Well, glad I rowed BEFORE the consultation appointment. The doctor's PA had me...

The virus story is pretty scary in parts of the US looking from a distance - stay safe Just the other day heard someone say “We DIDN’T DO ANYTHING to deserve THIS!” (CoVi). We sure DIDN’T DO THIS ⬇️ https://i.postimg.cc/9F0yLLrd/E5-B99-FE7-7-B4-B-4-BB1-AB4-A-552248375-A3-A.jpg Mexico is closing the...

Re: Forum Flyers
Snazzy pace progression, Cynthia. Lit up the bulb in that third split you did! I wish! But it seems like any time I start to really use my legs, I get the jolt of pain or, end up with the right hip/butt pain worsening considerably. So sedate rows are probably it for me. Better to be able to row slo...

Re: Forum Flyers
July is a plain old 2112m (apparently the distance at Henley regatta that is cancelled) Plain old works for me, LOL! I'm plain, ridiculous looking thanks to my quarantine haircut gone wrong AND I'm old! Got it done. Wasn't real sure, because after the last one, I tried rowing a couple times, first ...

Re: Forum Flyers
OK, I punched the buttons like you posted into the PM5, Jack, but I'm not sure it worked the way it should. There didn't seem to be any 2 minute rest intervals, just rowing for 7 minutes, 5 minutes, 3 minutes, 1 minute. I could see the timer reset for each interval, but there was no rest indicator o...

Re: Forum Flyers
Complicated snail there, CP! Monitor setup button sequence for June CTC, 16’ waterfall follows. Many thanks! I'm going to copy and paste that into Google Keep so I can access it from the tablet I run ErgData on, if things go better, I think I can do it time-wise, but my pace won't be anything to br...

Re: Forum Flyers
Checking in. Things are still not good. It *might* be possible for me to do CTC, but only if I can feel pain free enough. I've rowed ONCE since I last logged in here. Very, VERY slowly but I managed 10 minutes with no pain or repercussion. Enjoyed it! However, it was so slow that it didn't raise my ...

Re: Forum Flyers
Thanks for the 2km, Cynthia. I wasn't expecting that you'd be able to fit one in, so happy to see that you've done it. Unfortunately the Spring Series is pretty automated from the logbook side, and they seem to want standardised, verified entries. It's not showing up on the team page, and that's pr...

Re: Forum Flyers
I might've messed up on the 2K for the Spring Series. I didn't realize until I was done, but I had the PM5 set for some kind of 2K interval row instead of just 2K! But the time is for just 2000m in my logbook, and I only did the one, so maybe it can count if needed? https://log.concept2.com/profile/...

Re: Forum Flyers
Not only that Cynthia but we have boat floated and in third place right now. (And Dirk is at the top just like the old days) For those who are new Dirk Moller is a long time Flyer and one of the fastest 40/50+ guys ever - hugely strong Norwegian based German I see and nice work, Dirk! If I can, wil...
