Looking for a spare PM or troubleshooting advice

I have an older C2 Model C with a PM4 monitor that I bought used a few years ago. The PM3 has worked most of the time, but occasionally stops recording while I'm rowing, or won't turn on/record when I first start rowing. Usually I can eventually get it working if I play with the wire and unplug/plug...

Re: Model B mounting of the pick up wire

I would contact C2 to see if that's a replacement part they still offer. If not, maybe they can provide specs for you to make a replacement.

Re: Model B mounting of the pick up wire

This image shows the small screw that goes through the black round metal disc that's next to the cage, into the pickup:

Here's another angle:

And here's the top view in case that's helpful:

Re: Used model D, any advice appreciated

I've seen some reasonable prices on Craigslist in the MD/DC/VA area in the past few days: Model C (needs a monitor) for $399: https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/spo/d/great-falls-concept2-indoor-rower/7139767538.html Model D with PM4 for $600: https://york.craigslist.org/spo/d/york-indoor-rower...

Model B Drag Factor?

I recently hooked a PM3 up to my old Model B and was playing around with drag factor. With the chain on the 15T cog and the damper fully closed, drag was measuring at 185. I tried changing to the 13T cog with the damper still closed, but drag stayed about the same, or even dropped a little to 182. D...

Both you and the OP need to tell folks where in the world you're located as shipping a PM3 from Timbuktu to Christchurch may be prohibitively expensive.
Isn't my location shown in the right rail, next to my posts?

Did you use silver oxide and not alkaline batteries ?

Did you reset it as per the label on the side of it ?
Yes to both questions! (I used these batteries) But thanks for the suggestions...

Re: Wanted: Concept2 PM3 or later monitor

The batteries are brand new - I replaced them after purchasing the rower. Top portions of the screen started dimming after just a week or two of use, and the rest of the screen is fine, so I don't think it's a battery issue. Before I replaced the batteries, I also followed the instructions in https:...

Wanted: Concept2 PM3 or later monitor

I recently acquired an old Concept2 Model B rowing machine, and the PM1 monitor screen is gradually failing (the top half of the top row of digits is hard to read. I'm not quite ready to shell out $180 for a new PM5, especially considering the cost of the PM5 is more than the model B is worth so I'm...

Re: Model A needs a new home

Robin, if you do have a PM3 or newer monitor, I'd definitely be interested and would be more than happy to cover shipping (to Maryland). I just picked up a Model B from 1987 and am looking for an updated monitor for it.

Re: Monitor for Model B

Thank you. I did find the row2k classifieds and posted there, so we'll see if that turns up anything. I'll also create a "wanted" post in this forum in case it jogs the memory of anyone who has an extra laying around...

Keep you eyes open on the forum
Is there a classifieds section? If so, I couldn’t find it. Or just check the forum frequently?

It might work, it might not, but we use hair spray to attach motorcycle grips to the bars.
I’ve done the same thing in the past, so that’s what I tried. Seemed to work on the right grip, but not the left, so I’m going to try to reapply.

Glue for grips on wood handle?

I just purchased an old Model B rower, and while using it for the first time last night, I noticed that the rubber grips are loose on the wood handle, and gradually slide off while rowing. Otherwise, the grips appear to be in good shape, so I'd like to just glue them back on if I can. Any suggestion...
