I only row four, and sometimes three, times a week so don't worry too much about doing a specific amount of days. Find what works for you and make sure you feel rested enough when you do row.
This, too easy to get hung up on training volume. Quality over quantity and don’t neglect recovery

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

2 x 3000/4:00
Set 1 10:58
Set 2 10:54

Perceived effort harder than it should have been second set, but late evening sessions (8pm) can be a little hit and miss

https://i.postimg.cc/L4QPNDSp/20200104-092014.jpg First attempt at CTC for Team Oarsome. I'm quite happy with this as I know I'm not battle hardened enough yet and I think I can get it down to 1:37.0 or just under as I wobbled too much in the middle of the 500m and I worried a little bit too much i...

Re: Pre-workout drinks

before the gym, I often use a pre-workout. Current one i'm trying out is called PurePump as it's natural and i think certified to not contain banned substances. Although my guess is that you could do just as well by adding creatine to your coffee in the morning, bc pretty sure those are the only in...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

A little short distance testing today. Pleased with a 3:18 for 1km, would be nice to hold it for 2000m though! Felt good and on the limit, so about right.

Re: Pre-workout drinks

Always a strong coffee an hour or two prior. Caffeine has enough science to back up its claims, the supplements listed above, of which I’ve also used myself, just appear an expensive placebo to me. Unless other dietary elements are met, they don’t serve much purpose. Edit: with the exception of elec...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Quick blast pre night shift, 2x3k /4:00r 11:04 at 24spm followed by a 10:58 settling in at 25spm. First use of heart rate monitor on the erg, holding 178 back end of second effort, max in my running days was 184. Not sure how that correlates to a row, but it certainly felt hard. Happy new year every...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

6x750m r3 Pace consistently 1:42/1:43 in line with 500m efforts in recent weeks, so pleased with that. As a matter of interest and not to deter from the thread... what does ‘UT2’ refer to? Seeing a lot of it banded about in various threads... UT2 stands for Utilisation Zone 2, which should be circa...

Re: 2020 Goals

Have only just started rowing consistently, it’s serving a purpose of filling the void competitive running has left. Have yet to test myself over the classic distances, but typically hitting 1:42 splits over 500m intervals, and 7700 metres over 30mins. I’ve read in to Pete’s plan to bring a little f...
