Re: Weight loss and diabetes

Oardanny, I wish I could offer suggestions but your issue is beyond my primitive to nonexistent knowledge of Type 1 diabetes and exercise. Your post does make me think of how I take all of this for granted, ie having to be concerned about hypo/hyperglycemia. Hopefully someone knowledgeable about med...

Re: 2 hernias, is rowing still a safe bet for me?

Possum friend in Florida, First off, I am not in the medical field, so take my advice for what it's worth. I also have two hernias, one in the groin area and one near the belly button. I row frequently with no adverse effects. My recommendation would be to either talk to your physician about this or...

Re: Rowing with bad hips?

I had the same problem 3 years ago with my right hip. Walking became unbearable, rowing limited to 15 min. Had the hip replaced and back to a normal lifestyle with a lot of physical activities, other than running/basketball. My recommendation is to consult with your primary care doc and then an orth...

Re: Do The Seat Rollers Need Lubricating?

Only speaking from long time experience, I have never lubricated the seat rollers and have not had any issues. Obviously, your mileage varies.

Re: C2 Merchandise

I agree with ukaserex's remark about the t-shirt being kind of a trophy. Back in the old days, we used to get free shirts for completing the Holiday Challenge, on the honor system yet. I realize times have changed and the C2 rowing population is much larger, but the free shirt really was fun to earn...

Breathing

I'm currently reading a lot about the benefits of nose breathing, for general health and athletic performance. I find nose breathing to be difficult when exercising, and usually (always) return to my comfort zone (mouth breathing). Just wondering what you folks do on the rower, or bike, for breathing.

Re: Could rowers benefit from Inspiratory Muscle Strength Training ?

Wonderful post, Nomath. I also became aware of this study and purchased a Powerbreathe Plus not so much to improve my rowing but to hopefully benefit from the BP lowering effects. Too early to comment right now, as I'm sure diet and beer consumption also are important variables. As an aside, I also ...

Very impressive! I feel confident saying I could NEVER do that. In fact, for me that is about 10 - 12 months worth of rowing. Are you an android?

Sort by date

Is it possible to sort the messages in the various forums by date? This would make reviewing the posts more enjoyable and efficient. Thank you.
