Got the email about a new update for the pm5.
In the past I would unhook the monitor and plug it into my computer to do the updates.
Not anymore. I did the update from the ErgData app via Bluetooth to the pm5 monitor.
Not a huge deal but it was a little easier through the app

Re: Tried zone2 for a month, something unxepected happenend
I workout about 3-4 hours per week. Mostly zone 3 and some zone 4 intervals. Works great for me to maintain my fitness.
Zone 2 training would not work for what I’m wanting to do.

Re: Heart Rate Monitor
I use a CooSpo, and it's significantly cheaper than Polar. I've never had an issue, apart from occasionally having to wash the chest strap, and eventually, after about five million metres, having to change it + 1 Every bit as accurate as named brands. If you just want it to link with PM5, ErgData, ...

Re: Heart Rate Monitor
I have a Coospo chest strap that works great. They have a couple different models on Amazon. The one I have is $22.99 right now. This one beeps after it detects a heart rate and when you take it off it beeps stating it is disconnected. I like that. I use it for cycling and rowing and It has been roc...

Re: Row erg in the gym
I picked up a concept 2 about 3 years ago.
A friend I ride bike with rows on one at the gym so I asked him for advice. He says to crank the damper to 10 and row at 30 plus spm
Worst advice ever and thankfully I used the internet to search for a better way to start out on my new rower

Re: Clipless pedals for the C2 rower
Hello, everyone! Having raced bikes for many years, adding a rowing machine to the stable of equipment was GREAT! Except that toe straps are from the dark ages.. After pondering what to do for several years, this past week I went for it. Note that I spent a lot of time trying to see if this wheel h...

The serial number on my mine are the same.
Just noticed that the date code on monitor is 32021 and on the machine date code is 041421

Re: Squeak/Squeak/Squeak from RT Footplate Perimeter, above strap
Yeah that would drive me nuts. Maybe it’s the fasteners that hold the footplate to the machine? I’ve swapped footplates out on machines before and could see it making noise if it wasn’t tight. Take off the 8 screws that hold the face of the footbed on. Once you remove that front part there are some ...

Re: Drag factor on a clean machine
Thanks everyone. I picked this machine up a few years ago($200) and I believe it was used more for a clothes hanger than a piece of exercise equipment. When I originally got it home I cleaned the mesh, blades and so on. I also oil the chain every 4-6 months. I just wasn’t sure how often it needs to ...

Drag factor on a clean machine
Curious as to what the drag factor is on a clean machine.
Mine is an early model d pm5 from 2014.
Damper 1 drag factor is 79
Damper 10 is 223
Needs cleaned or good to go?

Re: CooSpo HR Sensor and PM5 inaccurate
There are a lot of reviews on the Coospo that complain about it chewing through batteries. Any similar experience? The newest coospoo h808s beeps twice when it connects and beeps once when it disconnects. Within a few seconds after taking the chest strap off I hear it beep. No battery issues for me.

Concept 2 has great customer service. They helped me out a couple times over the phone and most definitely know if it can be done and if so how to do it

Re: CooSpo HR Sensor and PM5 inaccurate
I have tried 3 different arm heart rate bands, one being coospoo, and they were all inaccurate with spotty readings.
Chest strap is the way to go. I have been using the COOSPO H808S chest strap for a while now and it works great for cycling, rowing, treadmill, and my elliptical. It was $30 on Amazon

Re: Just rowing? Or other cardio also?
I have a c2 rower, Sportsart elliptical, treadmill, and do lots of road cycling. Mainly road bike but once it gets chilly I switch to inside exercise. I get bored doing just one type of exercise inside. The elliptical is great for cardio. I also ride rollers inside with one of my bikes. Least boring...
