Where's the Sync "button?"
Ok, I'm feeling really dense here. I can't figure out how to upload my workout from my PM5 to my logbook after a "Just Row" using the new Ergdata app. There's no sync button appearing on the logbook screen, and my last four or five rows haven't uploaded (they're showing on the PM5). I've been using ...

Re: Ergdata and apple watch
I've used Ergdata for years with my iPhone, but I just got an Apple Watch (Series 8). This may sound dense, but I'm not exactly sure what I should use Ergdata on my Apple Watch for. I currently use a chest strap HR monitor, and there's an indoor rowing option on the exercise menu on the Apple Watch....

Thank you, all. You've given me some really good suggestions and I think my answer is among them!

Looking for a workout
Hello, all. I'm looking for a C2 workout "concept" for the next year or so. Here are my basics: 1) I'm not a rookie. I'm approaching 6 million meters on my C2 rower over the past four years. 2) I've done a couple of C2 marathons and participated in most of the challenges. 3) I'll be 70 years old thi...

Re: 42,195 metres
I'm pretty sure you have to specifically select a marathon from the distance menu for it to "officially count." When you do that, the PM5 doesn't allow you to pause the clock like in a "Just Row." In other words, when you stop rowing before the distance target is reached, the clock keeps running. Th...

Re: 42,195 metres
These aren't training hints, they're more about survival... I've done a marathon each of the past two years, and the difference in butt pain between a half- and a full-marathon is monumental for me. I can't overemphasize this...get more emergency padding ready than you think you will need, just in c...

Re: Recommendations on heart rate monitors
I second Garmin. Their belts now have four contact points with the skin, and I've had no problems with drop-outs. I really like the way the Wahoo belt fastens, but I've had trouble with pick-up without using a gel. With the Garmin, tap water or spit works fine!

Re: Reached 5 million meters today!
Have you got any tips that helps you with your motivation? As others have noted, motivation is a very personal thing. For me, however, I've found the following to be very valuable: 1) Participate in the various official Concept 2 Challenges. Most people find ongoing, routine activities tedious in s...

Reached 5 million meters today!
I finally hit 5 million meters on my C2 Model D rower today, 23 months after sitting on it for the first time. I know that many people hit this milestone much more quickly and go on to remarkable achievements, but it still feels good to have accomplished something that seemed so far away just a coup...

ACTN3 gene full deficiency, anyone?
After signing up for the 23andMe genetic analysis program, I learned that I'm "fully deficient" in the so-called "sprinter's gene." As someone with the TT variant of the ACTN3 gene - like 19.4% of those with European ancestry - I don't have the genetics commonly found in elite power athletes. While ...

RowPro discovery
I like RowPro for its ability to easily program and save my workouts with their varied intervals. However, I've never found it very reliable; often, the more complex workouts wouldn't automatically upload to my log, and I've sometimes had it freeze in the middle of a row. Last week I couldn't get Ro...

Re: Brand New Concept 2 Model D - Question
To answer your specific question, I've put nearly 5 million meters on my Model D over the past two years and have not found it to be easily susceptible to cosmetic damage. That said, it doesn't really get "put away;" it's moved occasionally for room-cleaning or just because I want it to be somewhere...

Re: A Comfortable Seat
The height of the perineal ridge on the C/R makes me flinch!! I'll admit that I was worried about that, but that didn't turn out to be a problem. You can also choose between no foam insert in the channel or your preference between inserts with three different foam densities. I was amused by this gu...

Re: A Comfortable Seat
Just FYI, the Citius-Remex PROW contoured pad is on sale for $99 through their US rep right now. I've had one for just a day, but I rowed for an hour and a half today and survived. I'll admit I was beginning to get a little uncomfortable during the last fifteen minutes or so, but it WAS the first ti...
