Re: Lateral/plantar foot pain

I have no idea about your foot pain, but i have had a few issues myself; sciatica, patella tendonitis and shoulder impingement. I discovered this channel on youtube and its a great source of info...its helped me out alot.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Wish my gym had a ski erg...would love to have a go, never used one. Sounds a good solid workout, it will all be helping to build your engine! It's about the best decision my gym has made in term of equipment  I watch GarageAthlete on Insta and the time he knocks out are incredible. I tend to...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

1km SkiErg to warm up in 4:00.9. Quite enjoy the Skierg and may use it more going forward. BPP demanded another 8km today so that's what it got. Decided to target 2:02.8 R20 and completed that in a sweaty mess. All good meters. Avg 2:02.3 R20 Avg HR 154 Caveat...today's row was completed on a non C...

Re: Does anyone just prefer indoor rowing?

Im surprised you didnt like it, although i have a fairly romantic idea of what OTW might be like. Id assumed most indoor rowers would be like pigs in s*** OTW. My guess is that most experienced ergers don't really do OTW - never even thought of doing it myself - its quite a different skill, much mo...

Re: Does anyone just prefer indoor rowing?

The best erg sessions ive had is when someone randomly goes on the erg next to me and we start glancing at each others monitors, nobody says anything but we both know somekind of competition has started. I love the idea of being OTW in a boat with others, all in perfect synchronisation...i just hate...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Frustrating workout, not felt great all week, was meant to do 8x500m sprints but after my usual walk to the gym and 15min erg warmup my legs just didnt feel up to the task. Didnt want the results to be affected by fatigue so thought it would be wise to prospone when i felt fresh. Opted for 3x20' 1R ...

Yesterday and this morning; 2K WU 4x20' 1R r22 2:05 2K Cooldown Nothing to write home about but a reasonable SS session given ive had terrible sleep the last few nights. Need to be firing on all cyclinders tomorrow for my speed intervals :| 30min walk to the gym in a thunderstorm didnt help my motiv...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

I had my first HD today  .....didn't train yesterday as my left side was hurting after the 5km TT. I intended to do the intervals today but had to take my daughter back to Uni in Southampton so after 4hrs driving and humping stuff about it was never going to end well. The 1km warmup felt OKish...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

@jims Definately, it is frustrating and motivating at the same time. Annoying thing is, i could of potentially carried on with the sprint work rather than taking time off from the high intensity stuff...it was to see if an old lingering shoulder injury would clear up or not, turns out it didnt and i...

Re: Question about UT2 - your opinions/experiences

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

@martin Normally do a little less, thought some extra rest would benefit the session being as im out of practise. I think i could of managed with much less. Hmmm not 100% what to do next week...wasnt aware of the 1' rest for 2kpace and 3'30" for -3 rule. Might be brave and try 1:37x8 and have 3'30"...

Re: Question about UT2 - your opinions/experiences

I dont follow training bands or HR zones, guess you could say i loosely follow petes plan, ive read up on the wolverine plan and i suppose you could say im inbetween programes. I really enjoy long low rate pieces and i do them a fair amount...they definately have a different feel to lets say, an ope...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

First sprint session in a few months, little conservative with the splits and ratings but glad to be doing them again after a long break. Looking forward to next week, thinking all 8 sub 1:40 sounds realistic.
