Re: weight loss
It''s horses for courses, Thomas. The mountain of evidence in favour of low carb diets keeps growing. And not just for weight loss. Personally, I've found a low-carb regime to offer a significant boost to motivation, energy and clear-headedness. Many people report an improvement in other health con...

Re: weight loss
You should not avoid carbs. You'll lose weight on the short term, but on the long term your metabolism will slow down and the weight will come back. You lost 5,5 kg on 1 week. That is WAY too much. You can start with https://tdeecalculator.net/ . It will estimate the amount of calories you need to k...

Re: Training with blisters?
You can get special band aids for blisters. Here in Belgium they are called 'Compeed'.
I'm sure your pharmacy can help you. They come in all sorts of sizes.
You put them on and they will of automatically fall off after a few days. It protects and helps to heal the damaged skin.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Long pre-marathon training today. Due to new/bad socks it turned into a living/rowing hell. After 10K I started to feel blisters developing on my heels. After 15K I quickly took a brake to swap socks, but it was too late. After 17K I had to take my shoes of, but I really can't row without shoes, als...

Re: Intermittent fasting/OMAD and marathon training
So far so good. I really like switching between the 16-8 and 20-4 pattern depending on the schedule. Last monday I was forced to do a 10K an hour after my only meal of the day, which was terrible. Blood sugar spiked and dropped dramatically and had to stop midway. Did the same session two days later...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Believe it or not the 4th interval struggles will hold you in good stead for other sessions, physically and mentally, despite the pain this time. Well done for completing all four from someone that has HD'ed on way to many occassions   Thanks! Sometimes you just have to go over the line...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
4 x 2000 from the beginner Pete Plan. Wanted to go sub 2:15, sub 2:10, sub 2:05 and sub 2:00 Felt really good the first three rounds and decided to test myself on the last. After 1200m I had a 1:48 average split. And then there was the wall  Worst 800m of my short rowing career. But it was ...

Early 2020: Marathon row
After this a sub 7 min 2K
PB is now 7:50, but this was a while ago during a 3 x 2K. In my first few weeks of rowing.
Will test it again in february. I think I'm capable of a 7:20-7:30.
A non-rowing goal: muscle-up

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Next up is 28K, 30K, another half marathon and the full marathon. If I was you I'd do 30k and then 35k instead of 28k and 30k. There's not much physiological difference between 28k & 30k from 25k but I always find when you get over 30-32k it really starts to bite and you don't want your very first ...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Did a 25K for my marathon training program. Average was 0.3 seconds faster than my half marathon from two weeks ago so very pleased with it. Aiming for sub 2:23 for the marathon including a toilet break. Actually I just want to finish, but by going sub 2:23 I'll beat the slowest crossfit athlete at ...

Re: C2 Seat Pads
I made my own out of 4 layers of an old and cheap yoga mat. About 2 inches thick in total. Made the holes after sitting on it for a while, that way i could see where I needed to cut the holes to match my bones. Also made the hole slithly bigger than the previous layer. Works really well. Feel like a...
