That sounds like it could be exactly what I was after.
I'll have to run an update to make sure I'm running the latest version of Google Fit and see if it syncs as well.

Oh, I have a bit of experience with the Fit app but I haven't personally worked with the ANT+ heart rate monitors. The Ergdata app is good at getting information transferred to a few of the main fitness apps like MyFitnessPal and Peaks.
