Concept 2 DVD
I've been reading some old posts and a few people make reference to a DVD that I assume used to be sold with the erg. I bought an erg last year and nothing came with it so I suppose this is no longer the case. The posts said it was a DVD about using the erg and featured the oarsome foursome erging b...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
I'd use circa 2:18 as a 12k steady pace guide, but if you haven't got a HR monitor, use an RPE of no more than 7/10, with the ability to speak, or sing, a few sentences. The acid test is how recovered you feel each day if you want to do 12k most mornings, so I'd play around with the pace and see ho...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Did a 30r20 at 2:06 avg.
It felt like a solid effort, I could've done maybe a couple of splits lower. Could anyone extrapolate from this what a good steady state split would be? I want to do a 12k most mornings but not sure what pace, thanks.

Re: My Model D is developing a creaking sound on the recovery
You haven't given much information to work with but I had a creaking noise on my model D that I diagnosed as coming from the footboards. I had the stretchers set too low and I was pushing off from the middle of the stretched (not the solid bit intended for pushing off of). Moving up a couple of hole...

Re: Erg slipping on floor mat
I bought some rubber 'indoor gym' style mats from my local hardware store to put under both feet and it has stopped the slipping entirely. These mats are just a little more robust and thicker than the concept2 mat. The texture is grippier as well.

Re: Concept 2 Seat Rollers
The rollers last forever if you clean the slide and the rollers with a damp cloth. The bearings do not last forever, especially if you sweat. They are user replaceable with better bearings when they die. Swap the R6Z metal shielded bearings with R6-2RS rubber shielded bearings. I have noticed this ...

Re: Wahoo HRM and force curve bug
This thread can be closed now, Citroen was right. I updated firmware to current version and the wahoo tickr pairs and works normally. Force curve draws itself properly again and the buttons on the PM5 even react quicker now. Cheers.

Wahoo HRM and force curve bug
I've got a Wahoo TICKR hrm and a new (last 6 months) model D + PM5. Normally when I row I use the force curve which works as expected. Once I pair the hrm over ant+ the force curve starts to glitch and sometimes the splits don't update as fluently as when nothing is paired. When I say 'glitch' the f...

Re: Erg slipping on floor mat
I might try getting a couple of cheap yoga mats and position them like they are in this video.

See how that goes.

Re: Erg slipping on floor mat
I never used the C2 mat, but a while back I did have issues with my Model C sliding on a linoleum floor. My solution was to use some of that rubbery waffle-type sheeting used to line tool boxes drawers between the erg pads and the floor. I did swap to a 'waffle-type' style yoga mat for a while and ...

Re: Erg slipping on floor mat
It was sliding regardless of spm. I could get it to slide just by going 18spm all the way up to 30+. It would even slide if I was just sitting at the catch and I'd push off too hard with my feet. It's less to do with technique or stroke rate and more to do with getting the rubber feet of the erg to ...

Erg slipping on floor mat
I bought the concept2 floor mat for the erg (I have a model d) and for months there was no problems at all with slipping around. It would stay in the exact same spot because when I'd take the erg on and off the mat I'd put it back on the same marks left by the ergs rubber feet. In the last few weeks...
